For the second FIA Formula 2 round, the Dutch team MP Motorsport travelled to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The previous weekend in Bahrain was decent for the team, but it could be better. A total of 14 points were scored in the brand-new Formula 2 cars. The team showed good pace, and in Jeddah, this became clearer as the team went home with a win and a P3 result.

Williams Racing Academy Driver Zak O’Sullivan will take part in the first Free Practice session at the 2023 Formula 1® Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Argentinian racer Franco Colapinto will remain with MP Motorsport as he moves up to the FIA Formula 2 Championship for 2024. This year, the tight bond between the Williams Racing Driver Academy member and the Dutch team resulted in a strong run to fourth place in the FIA F3 series. Preceding his 2024 debut, Colapinto will get his first taste of F2 in the final 2023 round in Abu Dhabi.

MP Motorsport's Formula 2 and 3 teams travelled to Monza this weekend as support series of the Formula 1 circus. For the Formula 3 team this was the season finale, which could not have gone better for the team from the Netherlands.  The qualifying session on Friday was a tricky one, due to numerous red flags it was decided that the session would not be finished with 10 minutes to go. As a result, Jonny Edgar qualified fourth, which was his best result this season. Mari Boya and Franco Colapinto finished in 15th and 16th positions, but disqualifications promoted them to P11 and P12.

Argentinian Williams Racing Driver Academy driver Franco Colapinto claimed second place at the Circuit de Catalunya last weekend. Franco arrived in Barcelona for the second leg of the FIA F3 double-header after a strong result in Monaco, where he just missed out on a podium finish. The Argentinian’s weekend started well by finishing P3 in Friday’s qualifying session, claiming his best result of the season so far.

Track conditions vary, yellow flags interrupt twice the 20 minutes session of qualifying practice 2, but nothing changes at the head of the standings, with the Swiss Grégoire Saucy (ART Grand Prix – 1:31.193) setting an amazing lap time, 0.367 faster than his teammate, Gabriele Minì. Third is a fantastic Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport – 1:31.781), showing again a constant improvement of the driver and the team. Fourth is Mikhael Belov (G4 Racing – 1:31.949), who yesterday has brought the first points to his team, and is continuing to give strong support to G4 Racing in expressing their full potential. Fifth is Francesco Pizzi (Van Amersfoort Racing – 1:32.010), obtaining his best position in qualifying this year. Just behind the Italian driver is Oliver Goethe (MP Motorsport – 1:32.015).

Grégoire Saucy, again! The ART Grand Prix driver once more is absolutely unbeatable and leads Race 1 at Circuit Zandvoort from pole position t0 the checkered flag. Never is he in trouble, with a great start and an equally fantastic restart after the safety car. Behind him, his teammate Gabriele Minì, in an absolutely consistent race, being the only driver with a pace close to Saucy.

On a wet track, the first 50 minutes collective tests session on the Circuit Zandvoort is stopped quite a few times due to red flags.
