In relatively hot weather, the final day of the Italian round at Cremona saw Dutchman Rene Lammers win the FIA Karting European Championship - OK, while Ukrainian Oleksandr Bondarev took victory in the FIA European Karting Championship - Junior. Spaniard Hugo Marti was the overall winner of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy.

Three European titles will be at stake - in OK and Junior and FIA Academy Trophy - when the 2023 FIA Karting European Championship concludes in Cremona, Italy from July 27-30. A maximum of 81 points can be awarded at this final event in OK and OK-Junior and 56 points in the Academy Trophy.

The temperature rose a few more degrees at Sarno on Sunday as the Finals of the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ & KZ2 supported by Mondokart.com got underway. Gradually set up during the Super Heats, the scenario unfolded without a hitch until the end of the Finals with Gustafsson (SWE) winning and Albanese (ITA) crowned in KZ, while Slater (GBR) took victory and the title in KZ2.

The new Danish circuit, the Rødby Karting Ring, provided a high-quality setting for its first appearance on the FIA Karting calendar. Rene Lammers (NLD) in OK, Oleksandr Bondarev (UKR) in OK-Junior and Vasileios Apostolidis (GRC) in Academy won the Finals.

After the first appearance of an FIA Karting competition on the Valencia track in Spain, followed by the discovery of a new track in the Czech Republic at Trinec, the third round will bring the competitors together in Denmark on a recently built circuit at Rødby from 15th to 18th June. The FIA Karting Academy Trophy will take advantage of this new venue for the second of its three events.

Two weeks after the encouraging results of the Champions of the Future Euro Series in the Czech Republic, Parolin Motorsport outdid itself in the second round of the OK & Junior European Championship at the same track in Trinec with five top 10 finishes and two podiums. Rene Lammers took a magnificent 2nd place in OK, while Miguel Costa finished 9th. Zac Drummond finished 3rd in OK-Junior, followed by Jack Iliffe in 6th and Christian Costoya in 7th. Parolin Motorsport also participated in the opening round of the Italian Championship in Cremona with Andrea Manni achieving success in Mini and Alessandro Truchot in Mini U10.

In Cremona, Birel ART lived up to its reputation by winning the WSK Super Master Series KZ2 Championship thanks to Cristian Bertuca. Matteo Viganò, the driver from the Leclerc by Lennox Racing team, won the Final, Bertuca accompanied him on the third step of the podium, five Birel ART / TM finished in the top 10 and Freddie Slater, holder of the pole position, followed in 11th place. To top it all off, the FIA International Karting Ranking places three Birel ART Racing drivers in the top three positions in KZ2 - Bertuca, Vasile and Slater.

You had to have strong nerves, as well as great speed, to get good results in Zuera. The two heroes of this first round of the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ & KZ2 supported by Mondokart.com did not lack any. The Jamaican Alex Powell saw off the challenge of his KZ2 protagonists to claim his first victory in the category. Frenchman Jérémy Iglesias patiently built up to his success in KZ thanks to determination and a flawless strategy.
