PREMA Racing sweeps 2025 E4 Championship titles

PREMA Racing put up a dominant showing as the 2025 E4 Championship came to its close at Monza. One week after claiming the Italian Formula 4 title, Japanese-Slovakian Kean Nakamura-Berta delivered an incredible triple win at Monza to claim the three-event series title in absolute style. Nakamura started from pole in all three races and was able to fight back even when the opening stages didn’t allow him to take control. In addition to scoring four wins, he only once finished off the podium, and it was a P4.

A strong combined performance allowed PREMA to claim the E4 Championship Trophy for Teams, while Ukrainian Oleksandr Bondarev completed the team’s sweep by winning the Rookie Trophy with four class wins, including one at Monza, maximizing the weekend after a tough qualifying.

Colombian Salim Hanna completed the season on a high with a P2 overall in the closing race and was a leading competitor all weekend long. Zhenrui Chi had an impressive weekend and was in the hunt for wins and podiums. A couple of penalties prevented him from achieving his goals, but he still got home a P5 overall and a rookie win to cap off the year.

Sebastian Wheldon was fast all weekend as well and even topped Qualifying 1, although he suffered a grid drop for the first race. The American put up powerful recoveries, and although a penalty got in the way of a Race 1 podium, the pace was always there all weekend for him. He wrapped up the year with P4 and a win to his name.

Andrea Dupe had a challenging run at Monza. The Frenchman could not score points but had a top-10 performance in Qualifying 1 before an unavoidable contact deprived him of his best chance in Race 1. Making his F4 and car racing debut, Canadian Lucas Nanji focused on improving and climbing his learning curve in the hard-fought European Formula 4 environment. He made solid progress throughout the weekend, posting a P13 in Race 2.

#5  Andrea Dupe

"Difficult weekend overall to finish the season. I think we had a good pace in FP and Qualy, but struggled with track position in traffic. Sadly, in Q2, we didn't manage to put a lap together, and we started quite far back. In Race 1, I had a great start, but I was taken out. In Race 2, another car spun in front, and I just had nowhere to go, while in Race 3, I made a small mistake and broke my front wing. I went back to change it, and the comeback was quite good. This weekend had again a good pace, but we couldn't put it together, while luck was not on our side as well. I want to thank the team for doing an amazing job this season."

#27  Oleksandr Bondarev

"The season is finished, and I got the Rookie Championship title even if we had a tough weekend. We struggled with qualifying pace, which is surprising because we were always quick at Monza. In the races, we found the pace, and in Race 1 and 2, we stormed through the field. Some unlucky moments cost us a few positions, so we had to restart our progress again. It has been difficult, but the team did a really good job; we got the rookies' title, which is what we wanted. Excited for what's next."

"We had a good pace this weekend, maybe E4 is not my championship. Qualifying was decent; we put ourselves in very good positions for the three races. The first race was a bit messy, even if the start was good, while in Race 2, we struggled with tyre temp, which was never really there. In Race 3, we had a really good start and led for a while, but I just had an incident in T1 as I tried to avoid making contact."

"First weekend for me in car racing, and it was definitely tricky. I didn't make it easy for myself with a tough qualifying session, but I did a decent job in the races to get back. Race 2 was especially good with 16th overalland P7 rookies. It was okay for a first weekend, but I definitely need to work on my driving so that I can have a better result in the future."

"Finished off the season in Italy, and it's been an unforgettable one. We finished it like we started, with a triple win here in Monza. We got three pole positions for the races and managed to convert them all for the races. Massive thanks to the team for the effort they put in the whole year. It has finally come with great rewards. Forever grateful, we'll see what the future holds."

#88  Salim Hanna

"I think the weekend was decent. In qualifying, I got better and better. I went slightly off in my fastest lap, and we were still good, so we had faith in the rest of the weekend. In Race 1 and 2, we struggled a little bit with the cold, and I felt I had no grip and no confidence under braking, while Race 3 was better, I realized I could push the braking much harder. It went a lot better with P2. Really close but really far at the same time. I don't give up. Whatever I end up doing next year, I'm going to work hard to make sure everything is in position and give it all."
