PREMA Racing is delighted to announce that Sebastian Montoya will continue to compete with the team in the 2026 FIA Formula 2 Championship. Coming off a positive rookie campaign in the series, the 20-year-old Colombian-American will be looking to capitalize on the progress made this year and take further competitive steps.
Montoya joined PREMA for his European debut in 2020, and quickly showcased his potential in the Italian Formula 4 Championship, taking fourth place in the series the following year. He stayed under the PREMA umbrella for Formula Regional, where he secured two victories in the Middle Eastern series and entered the FRECA championship.
In 2023, he made his FIA Formula 3 debut and had a promising stint in the series, competing in the series in the following two seasons. In addition, he had the chance to make his sportscar racing debut with impressive results.
Coming back to PREMA for the 2025 FIA Formula 2 season, he learned his ropes with the challenging new car early in the year before posting three podium finishes and climbing up to the top-10 in driver points. Montoya will begin his preparation for 2026 with the series' collective post-season test in Abu Dhabi.

Rene Rosin - Team Principal
"We are thrilled to have Sebastian with us again in 2026. We are confident in his potential, and with the pace he has shown so far this year, we look forward to seeing him compete with more experience under his belt. This year, he proved his ability to learn and progress even in such a testing environment as in FIA Formula 2, and was a great team player all around."

"I'm really happy to be with the team again in 2026. I think the work we have done this year has been incredible. We had some ups and downs, but the biggest thing has been the learning process and how we've merged together. The work combines really well, and in the end, we all have one goal. I think the mindset for next year is just to keep our head down, keep pushing, and see what it brings."
