Georg Kelstrup latest addition to MP Motorsport's line-up in Spanish F4

Danish ace Georg Askegaard Kelstrup is MP Motorsport’s latest addition to a talented line-up for the 2021 Spanish Formula 4 Championship, the youngster joining the Dutch team for his first season in car racing.

Kelstrup got acquainted with F4 and MP Motorsport during last week’s two-day test at Barcelona, and jumped at the opportunity to sign for the team for the 2021 season in Spain.

Kelstrup is supported by the Danish federation and has been invited to join Team Denmark for 2021. He joins Suleiman Zanfari, Rik Koen, Gil Molina, Dilano van ’t Hoff, Manuel Espírito Santo, Santi Trisini and his countryman Noah Degnbol Møller at MP this year.

“I’m so happy to join MP Motorsport and race in the Spanish Championship this year”, said Kelstrup, “I’ve heard many good things about the team and the way they develop their drivers. I am very happy with my engineer and after the first test at Barcelona I’ve already learned a lot.

"The team made me feel very welcome and as for good competition in F4, it looks like I got all that I wished for! As a rookie it’s going to be tough, and I know it takes a lot of hard work, a bit of luck and helpful sponsors to get there. But I’ll do my best to make it count.”

“I’m very pleased to welcome Georg to our Spanish F4 team”, said Sander Dorsman, MP Motorsport’s team manager, “Progressing from karts, Georg will surely be able to adapt well to his new single-seater environment. He’s got plenty of talent and a great work ethic, and both will serve him well in his debut season in cars.”

Kelstrup moves up into single-seaters after several years of fierce competition in the WSK Championships for OK Karts, including the WSK Super Master Series, WSK Open Cup and WSK Euro Series. He was also a podium finisher in the German Karting Championship. Before moving up to the international karting scene, the Dane raced competitively in the Swedish Karting Championship.
