The Italian F.4 Championship takes on the Temple of Speed

The Autodromo Nazionale Monza, the legendary Temple of Speed, will host the third round of the Italian F.4 Championship during the ACI Racing Weekend from June 20 to 22. A total of 40 drivers, representing 26 nations and entered by 12 different teams, will take to the fast Monza track ready to battle it out.

The first two rounds of the season, held at the Misano World Circuit in early May and at the Autodromo Piero Taruffi in Vallelunga later that month, adopted the group format, with three qualifying races used to select the best 36 drivers who could advance to the final race. Within this format, Kean Nakamura-Berta stood out, the Slovak-Japanese driver of Prema Racing claiming five consecutive wins across the two opening events.

Two victories, including the season opener, went to his teammate Sebastian Wheldon, while the final race in Vallelunga saw the rise of Brazilian driver Gabriel Gomez, representing US Racing, who delivered a solid weekend with three podiums in three races and collected the highest overall points tally. Thanks to this performance, Gomez climbed to third in the overall standings, behind Nakamura-Berta and Wheldon. With five rounds still to be contested and an intense battle among the frontrunners, the Monza round promises to be crucial in shaping the championship balance, which is already fiercely competitive.

The rookie class is also expected to deliver plenty of action, currently led by Colombian driver Salim Hanna of Prema Racing, ahead of Artem Severiukhin of Jenzer Motorsport and Norwegian Marcus Saeter of Van Amersfoort Racing. Spotlight as well on the Woman Trophy, which sees the return of the female contenders to the track. British driver Emily Cotty of R-ace GP leads the standings, followed by American Payton Westcott of Van Amersfoort Racing and Polish driver Kornelia Olkucka of Maffi Racing.

At Monza, the format changes. The third round will feature three races, each lasting 30 minutes plus one lap, with all 40 drivers on track at the same time.

The weekend for these young talents on the road to F1 will begin on Thursday, June 19, with pre-event collective testing on track from 14.00 to 18.00. On Friday, June 20, two 40-minute free practice sessions will take place at 8.30 and 11.45, followed by qualifying.

Qualifying 1, which will set the grid for Race 1, will run from 15.35 to 15.50, followed by Qualifying 2, which sets the grid for Race 2, from 16.00 to 16.15. The starting grid for Race 3 will be based on each driver’s second-best lap time from either session.

Saturday, June 21, will be the first of two race days, with Race 1 scheduled for 10.35 and Race 2 set to start at 17.50. Race 3 will take place on Sunday, June 22 at 10.20.

All races will be broadcast live on ACI Sport TV, available on Sky channel 228 and Tivùsat channel 52, and streamed live on www.acisport.tv as well as on the ACI Sport TV Facebook and YouTube pages. English-language coverage will also be available through the official social media channels of the Italian F.4 Championship and will be distributed globally via the championship’s international broadcasting network.
