In recent days, CRG officially announced the date and location of its flagship rental event: the 24 Hours Karting of Italy will be held on March 14–15 in Italy at the Castelletto di Branduzzo circuit.
The stars of the event will be the CRG Centurion karts, equipped with Honda 390cc engines, ensuring teams high performance and an exceptional driving experience. All karts will be brand new, randomly assigned to teams, and — according to the event’s philosophy — kept by the same teams for the entire race. Teams will therefore need to manage tire wear and mechanical reliability as part of their overall performance strategy. Naturally, in case of technical issues, kart replacement will be guaranteed. Fueling and technical support will be managed by a central CRG service structure for all participating teams.
Now in its 9th edition, the CRG event attracts over 40 teams from around the world and is considered one of the most prestigious international rental karting races. The organization maintains very high standards, including live streaming coverage with an on-site TV studio. Teams, made up of 3 to 10 drivers, will have access to pit box facilities, live timing, and large screens to monitor race progress and pit lane times.
The National Federation will also play a major role, managing video controls via a race control center equipped with 24 cameras, as well as providing track services and medical assistance throughout the event in rotating shifts.
Two team categories will be admitted:
PRO, for the most experienced drivers
SILVER, for more amateur teams
The event regulations will be simple, giving teams freedom to develop their own strategies. Among the few mandatory rules are the minimum driver change requirements: 30 for PRO teams and 35 for SILVER teams.
The event schedule includes optional free practice sessions on Friday, March 13, allowing especially international teams to familiarize themselves with the track and karts. The official program will begin on Saturday morning, March 14, with the Team Managers’ briefing, followed by 1 hour of free practice per category (PRO and SILVER), Superpole qualifying, and then the race start at 3:00 PM.
Between qualifying and the start, CRG’s live stream broadcast will go on air on YouTube and Facebook, featuring the Driver Parade and the award ceremony for pole position winners.
The race start will follow the traditional Le Mans-style format, after which 24 hours of continuous competition on track and in the pits will unfold, with strategy as the key element. The only additional stop beyond the mandatory driver changes will be a nighttime technical stop for the replacement of the front tires.
The entry fee per team has been confirmed at €2,600 + VAT, while Friday’s free practice sessions will cost €20 per session. The organization will also provide a list of partner hotels for team logistics, and a camper area will be available at the circuit.
Registrations officially open on Monday, December 1, and will close once the maximum number of karts (42) is reached. However, teams can already contact the Organizing Secretariat at marketing@kartcrg.com / +39 030 9912604 to pre-register.
