Drivers from the national and international realms of X30 and KZ karting are now welcome to enter the Winter Series of the 2026 Karting Champions League, the championship that offers the ideal way for everybody to get into a racing rhythm for the regular season.
This winter’s Karting Champions League will take place in January and February on the tracks of Genk and Mariembourg. The pair of winter weekends at the two Belgian karting tracks acts as a natural continuation of the first Karting Champions League that took place at the Mariembourg track last winter.
The championship has now been expanded to include Genk, the legendary karting track that was taken over by the MP Group earlier this year. The MP Group is also the driving force behind the Karting Champions League, whose top prize is nothing less than a Formula 4 test with MP Motorsport.
“The previous edition of the Karting Champions League managed to attract karting stars from all over Europe,” says Henk de Jong of the MP Group, who initiated the winter championship, “I expect the same kind of influx this year, resulting in a strong field of top drivers from the IAME Benelux/KZ, the Deutsche Kart-Meisterschaft and other leading championships.
"Karting Champions League winners are rewarded with a wide array of attractive prizes, of which the F4 test with MP Motorsport is just one. However, it’s a very important prize because we want to make car racing more accessible to talented karters.”
The F4 test is the top prize for the champions in the X30 Senior karts and the KZ shifter karts, but the champions can also opt for a brand-new kart with a fresh engine instead. The drivers who finish second and third in the standings will receive a new kart and a new engine, respectively, while the top three will each receive a set of IWF tickets.
Fourth and fifth-placed drivers get their hands on a fresh set of tyres. Like the new karts and engines, these will be provided by Kartstore International, the MP Group’s karting centre in Oud-Beijerland, The Netherlands.
The Karting Champions League is open to the following karting categories: X30 Mini, X30 Junior, X30 Senior, KZ2 and X30 Super Shifter, KZ2 and X30 Super Shifter Master 30+. Engines are available for hire for drivers who normally compete in other categories. Moreover, the League is adding a new category to the championship - the KZ Gentlemen class is open to anyone over the age of 45, offering lifelong karters the opportunity to compete at a high level.
The race weekends will take place on 30 January-1 February (Genk) and 27 February-1 March 2026 (Mariembourg). Both weekends run from Friday to Sunday, with the preceding Thursday open for free testing. The action can be followed live on the Karting Champions League YouTube channel.
