Trident completed its 2024 lineup for the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine with the addition of Chinese racer Ruiqi Liu. Having made his debut in the final rounds of the 2022 Italian Formula 4 Championship, Liu entered the Italian series again and also raced in the new Euro4 Championship, which uses F4 cars as well.

He was among the stars of the FRECA championship in 2023, securing a podium finish and a fastest lap, ending the season in 11th place. In 2022, he made his FRECA debut but didn’t score points. In 2019, he made his competitive debut in Italian F4, running in the following three seasons.

Richard Verschoor will have another shot at a top classification in the FIA Formula 2 championship in 2024. In doing so, the recently turned 23-year-old TeamNL talent will race for Italian Trident Motorsport. With that, Verschoor returns to the team with which he also raced in Formula 2 in 2022. In that season, the Dutchman scored one victory, four podiums and drove the fastest lap three times. "I am very happy to be back at Trident Motorsport, grateful for this opportunity, and ready to take on the challenge," Verschoor said.
