The Mondokart.com FIA Karting European Championship for gearbox categories got underway in the heat of the Naples International Circuit, with temperatures well in excess of 30 degrees. Qualifying Practice enabled the establishment of an initial hierarchy. Frenchman Mattéo Spirgel set the fastest absolute time in KZ, while his compatriot Corentin Rousseau took first place in KZ2. Manuel Cozzaglio, European Champion in 2003 and now competing in the Masters, showed that he had lost none of his talent when he was fastest in his category.

The Italian factory will be protagonist of the new competition, organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), with the aim of making the access to karting easier worldwide, by supplying Kosmic Kart chassis and Vortex Engines

From 5th to 8th June, FIA Karting visited the Viterbo circuit, which had never before been used for the Championships. The sun, the heat and the grip were there, as was the performance of the KR-IAME packages, so the results followed. In the OK-Junior class, the VictoryLane team celebrated the victory of Frenchman Samuel Hugon, who was joined on the podium by Dean Hoogendoorn.

Christian Costoya’s European Championship lead was strengthened this weekend at the third round out of four at Viterbo in Italy, where the Spanish star qualified on pole and won all his races, with team-mate Beau Lowette matching his pace. Junior driver Bruno Blanco is also rapidly gaining in strength and took his first FIA Karting top ten.

In summery weather, Birelart Racing shone in the third round of the FIA Karting European Championship - OK at Viterbo. Vladimir Ivannikov took an excellent 2nd place in the Final, while Noah Wolfe and Aston Sharp also put in solid performances throughout the weekend.

A warm, sunny day celebrated the success of the Viterbo event. For its baptism of fire, the Leopard circuit proved a great success, with lively and indecisive races. In the Mondokart.com FIA European Karting Championship, Spaniard Christian Costoya extended his lead over his rivals in OK after a second consecutive victory. In OK-Junior, young Frenchman Samuel Hugon (11 years old) created a surprise by beating all the favourites, including the new Championship leader, Dutchman Dean Hoogendoorn. The French anthem was played twice on the Italian podium, with Jules Avril winning the FIA Karting Academy Trophy - Senior.

This will be a major first at this level for the Leopard circuit, located north of Rome. A total of 32 Qualifying Heats created an intense spectacle on the Leopard circuit, which proved well suited to this high-level FIA Karting competition. The battles were non-stop in all three categories, while the thermometer topped 30 degrees in the Lazio sun. In the Mondokart.com FIA Karting European Championship, the final day promises to be wide open in OK-Junior, with a number of clear podium contenders. In OK, Spaniard Christian Costoya confirmed his pole position from Friday with five wins out of five! Harrison Whitticombe remained unbeaten in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy - Senior, but nothing was easy for the Briton.

The first FIA Karting competition in the history of the Leopard circuit in Viterbo got off to a sunny start, with excellent initial feedback from the competitors. In Italy, Friday's Qualifying sessions proved particularly interesting to follow with 197 drivers entered, and extremely close gaps in the three categories represented.

Parolin Motorsport was again in the ascendant in the third round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series at Viterbo with another win from Christian Costoya in the OK category, consolidating his position as the top-ranked international kart racer. This time the Spanish driver didn’t have it all his own way, but he moved into the lead of the series with a masterful Final win, backed up by strong performances from his team-mates.

Young driver Noah Wolfe continues to demonstrate his versatility at the highest level. Competing at Viterbo in Round 3 of the Champions of the Future Euro Series, he finished a solid 5th in the OK category, despite a technical problem in the Super Heat, which put the brakes on his ambitions.
 

During the third round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series, the drivers and teams defending the Kart Republic colours in OK and OK-Junior were able to learn the Viterbo circuit on Maxxis tyres and gather valuable information for the FIA Karting European Championship. Some excellent technical solutions were found, as Irishman Daniel Kelleher and Belgian Thibaut Ramaekers were able to prove with their magnificent recoveries to 2nd and 3rd positions in OK. In OK-Junior, Great Britain's Noah Baglin once again fought his way to the front.

Champions of the Future Euro Series is heading for Italy and the town of Viterbo. The Léopard circuit has welcomed karting drivers, both leisure and competition, for almost 18 years. The 1,294-metre track is full of challenges, with a balanced mix of fast bends and tighter corners that encourage overtaking.
