A lot of protagonists came to the fore in the second round of the WSK Final Cup, the event that will award the titles of MINI, OKJ, OK and KZ2 on Sunday, November 13th in Lonato. 

The second round of the WSK Final Cup started with qualifying practice and with the first 17 heats on Friday. Some surprising results among all the protagonists of the event that will award the titles of MINI, OKJ, OK and KZ2 this Sunday. 

The WSK Final Cup moves to Lonato for its second and closing round with over 300 drivers this weekend after the opener held in Sarno. These are quite important numbers for a competition that introduced this year a new format with two rounds to define the 2022 champions. In Lonato, MINI is expected to have a big participation of over 120 drivers, OKJ over 80, OK and KZ2 about 50.

It would be true to say that Jimmy Helias didn’t mess up his debut in OK, the top-tier kart category without a gearbox. Six years after becoming the youngest-ever French champion in the history of motor sport, the driver from Evreux – 14 years old on 1st September – finished on the third step of the podium on his first attempt, in the WSK Final Cup at Sarno: a hugely-promising result in view of the 2023 season!

The WSK Final Cup, the last series of the season, started at the beginning of November at the Circuito Internazionale Napoli. The new KZ S15 chassis developed for the 2023 season proved to be well conceived, allowing Giuseppe Palomba and Cristian Bertuca to put in top performances against worthy opponents. Kirill Kutskov finished his performance in OK with a superb comeback of almost 20 places in the Final and Jindrich Pesl scored his best result in OK-Junior after moving up from Mini during the year.

On the occasion of the first competition held at the International Naples Circuit, Noah Milell wins the place of honour in KZ2 class with their Tony Kart Racer 401 RR. Joseph Turney fights for victory in the OK final. Drivers in the OKJ and MINI classes were also competing.

The WSK Final Cup, the last international championship of the season, got off to a turbulent start in Sarno on the first weekend of November. The rain, sometimes very heavy, considerably reduced the grip in the Qualifying Phases before the sun came out for the Final phases of the competition. In a tough situation, Parolin Motorsport took first class results by finishing in the top three of the provisional ranking of the OK, OK-Junior and Mini categories before the conclusion which will take place next weekend in Lonato.

The second round of the series that will decide the titles will take place at the South Garda Karting circuit from November 9 to 13. WSK welcomes the first win of a Chinese driver Yuanpu Cui (OK) and of a driver from Panama, Gianmatteo Rousseau (MINI). 

The Sodi Racing Team, with its brilliant pair of drivers, dominated the first round of the WSK Final Cup in KZ2. Émilien Denner, who took pole position, led the heats and won the Prefinal, was less successful in the Final, when his team-mate took over with authority at the front of the field, before triumphing after a long solo run.

The victories, at the end of a hard-fought weekend at the International Circuit Napoli of Sarno, went to Panama’s Rousseau (MINI), the Italian  Olivieri (OKJ), the Dutch Van Walstijn (KZ2) and the Chinese Cui (OK). The second and closing round of the series will be on Sunday in Lonato.

Clear sky after the rain on Friday at the International Circuit Napoli of Sarno as the heats on Saturday named the main protagonists of the opening meeting of the WSK Final Cup. 

Qualifying practice have been run regularly, but qualifying heats had to be stopped for about one hour due to the heavy rain that prevented the races to be run safely.

The double round of the WSK Final Cup is about to start from Sarno on November 6 before the round of Lonato on November 13. The provisional entry list of the second round has been published and it includes over 270 drivers. The live streaming of the event will be available from WSK’s website and Motorsport.tv.

The 2023 racing calendar introduces several novelties: from some new circuits involved to the new OK-N and OKJ-N, X30 Junior and X30 Senior to join MINI, OKJ, OK and KZ2

The WSK Final Cup 2022 will comprise two rounds: the first in Sarno on November 6th and the second in Lonato on November 13th.
