The first champions of the 2025 season will be crowned this week at the brand-new Leopard Circuit in Viterbo. Located one hour from Italy’s capital, Rome, the circuit will host the final act of the Rotax MAX Challenge Winter Series.
A wide array of prizes will be offered by Rotax Karting and WSK Promotion for the event. The winners of the five categories (Mini MAX, Junior MAX, Senior MAX, DD2, DD2 Masters) will receive free entry to all four rounds of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy. Second-place finishers will be awarded free entry to two of the four RMCET events, while third-place finishers will receive an entry ticket to the RMC International Trophy.
In addition, all drivers who have competed in both rounds of the RMC Winter Series will be eligible to participate in a raffle—scheduled for Sunday after the finals—which will award one free ticket per category to RMCIT 2025 (including race tires).
All five championship categories remain tightly contested, with the titles still wide open.
In Mini MAX, Oliver Spencer (KR Sport) currently leads the standings. However, the British driver will need to fend off fellow countryman Tom Read (SFR Motorsport), who delivered a stunning comeback in Cremona, and Jef Verbeke, who had impressed in Friday’s qualifying while driving the Kart Republic for Stan Pex Motorsport.
In the Junior category, consistent performer Harry Freeman (KR Sport) holds a six-point advantage over Round 1 final winner Kristian Sejersen (RS Competition), who emerged strongly in the second half of the weekend. Also in the mix is reigning RMCET Mini MAX champion Albert Friend (Strawberry Racing).
Only 14 points separate the top three contenders in Senior MAX: British drivers Macauley Bishop (Dan Holland Racing), Sean Butcher (KR Sport), and Kai Hunter (Hunter Motorsport). Bishop, who won in Cremona, will face fierce competition from two of the category’s most experienced drivers, Butcher and Hunter.
In DD2, Kraft Motorsport teammates Jakub Bezel and Will Elswood are currently tied at the top of the standings, while in DD2 Masters, the duel is set between Cremona final winner Nicolas Picot (Privateer) and the in-form Xen De Ruwe (SSC).
The event will begin with two days of free practice. Friday will feature qualifying and the first heats, which will conclude on Saturday. Sunday will host the decisive Prefinals and Finals. On Sunday, March 30, the Pre-finals and Finals will be broadcasted live.
