The Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy on the last weekend in May is looking forward to a series highlight. The International championship of the Austrian engine manufacturer BRP-Rotax welcomes a new track on the calendar from May 27th to 29th. For the first time, an event will take place on the demanding circuit in Val d'Argenton, France – bringing a new challenge for all the drivers and teams participating.
The season of the RMC Euro Trophy is progressing with great strides. Almost four weeks after the successful start in Genk, Belgium, the next event is already casting its shadows. Located 120 km south-southeast of Nantes on the west coast of France, Val d'Argenton presents itself as the newest venue for the championship and promises a breath of fresh air in the racing action. With a length of 1,280 meters, the course offers the best conditions for thrilling racing action with fast straights and many overtaking opportunities.
In the Mini MAX category, everything went according to plan at the start of the season for Boaz Maximov (Bouvin Power). In Genk, the Belgian driver put in a good performance and now enters the race as championship leader. In addition, the British driver Ethan Jeff-Hall (Strawberry Racing) is on his way to Val d'Argenton as the overall leader of Junior MAX. As usual, the largest field of drivers is the Senior MAX category. After a strong debut in Genk, Sean Butcher (KR Sport) ranks at the top of the table and is therefore also considered the favorite in France.
In the DD2, Mark Kimber (Strawberry Racing) underlined his ambitions at Genk and is currently leading the field. The Belgian driver Xander Przybylak (Bouvin Power) also took a victory at the start of the season and underlined that the fight for the title remains exciting. The German driver Denis Thum (Kraft Motorsport) scored twice at the DD2 Masters in Genk and therefore has to defend his role as favorite at the end of May.
The competitors of the Rotax Project E20 classes will once again provide variety on the demanding course. The electric karts are represented in both the Senior category and the new Junior class and provide an exciting outlook on the potential of the sustainable Rotax engine concept. Dutch driver Thijs Stevens is currently sitting at the top of the E20 Junior category while Luca Köster (Kraft Motorsport) from Germany is ahead in the E20 Senior points after round 1.
