Round 1 of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy concluded this past weekend at Karting Genk: The Home of Champions offers the first verdicts in terms of overall standings in the Junior MAX, Senior MAX, DD2, and DD2 Masters categories.

The 10 Qualifying Practices sessions officially kick off the first round of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy. Over the 1360 meters of Karting Genk: The Home of Champions, the traditional opening round venue of the RMCET, 239 drivers vied for pole position in the 5 classes involved in the event.

The first international Rotax race winners have been determined. Last weekend, the RMC Euro Trophy Winter Cup kicked off the new season in Campillos, Spain. Nearly 180 riders went full throttle on the demanding course in Andalusia and delivered exciting racing action at the start of the season.

We look back at yesterday, when the 2022 RMC Grand Finals were truly opened via the Welcome Briefing in the morning. 394 drivers received their brand new karts through the customary raffle on the main start-finish straight underneath the beautifully sunlit Portuguese skyline. Along with that, drivers would also head to the nearby Autodromo Internacional do Algarve for the mandatory briefings that afternoon, with the paddock tent being a busy hive of activity all day long as the brand-new karts would be prepared fully, with every nut and bolt tightened and fastened.

The Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Golden Trophy took place once again last weekend at Karting Genk in Belgium. 181 competitors from 26 nations dueled at the demanding ‘Home of Champions’ and delivered exciting racing in the alternating weather conditions. In the evening, five class winners were celebrated on the podium. In addition, three drivers were awarded their tickets for the upcoming RMC Grand Finals in Portimao, Portugal, at the last moment.

The championship welcomed its participants from all over the world on a new track on the racing calendar for the season at the halfway mark and provided exciting challenges in the best weather.

More than 200 drivers started in Genk, Belgium last weekend and kicked-off the racing season of the highly-competitive karting championship. In the best weather, the numerous spectators enjoyed lots of racing action and the first winners of the year were celebrated in the seven Rotax categories. Four drivers achieved double victories in Sunday’s Finals.
