After a difficult start to the 2020 year, America and the sport of karting has begun to retake some normality with racing officially beginning to take shape. J3 Competition is pleased to announce its rescheduled northeast Rotax regional Stars & Stripes Trophy program.  The three-race format which is highlighted with a single practice day and one day of racing allows for nearly anyone to compete along with only one set of new slick tires required for racing.  The series will resume at the original northeast venues with a revised rotation and date format which follows:

Rotax team is testing the new project E20 electric kart and the results are very impressive - 25 laps on a single charge! One hour charge time and the e-kart is ready to go again!

The 2020 US Rotax Grand Nationals have successfully been rescheduled to take place at Charlotte Motor Speedway on September 18-20.  The new date was slotted in with several key factors including facility availability as well as working to create minimal conflicts across the country with other clubs, regional and national programs.

Further to the worldwide travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 virus, BRP-Rotax and 3MK Events have carefully taken the decision to postpone the 2^nd edition of the Rotax MAX Challenge International Trophy, which would have taken place from Tuesday 28^th July to Saturday 01^st August 2020 at Le Mans Karting International track, in France.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and current travel restrictions, BRP-Rotax has decided to postpone the 2020 Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals till January 2021, and to change the location to the city of Portimão in Portugal. The 2020 RMC Grand Finals will take place in Portimão, Portugal, from January 23 to January 30, 2021.

The Colorado Karting Tour finally kicked-off its season in the COVID-19 effected year at the beautiful Grand Junction Motor Speedway facility.  The GJMS facility has played host to several high profile events in its day as the facility offers a picturesque and challenging circuit which did not disappoint at the opening CKT event.

With the event set to take place offering international RMCGF tickets alongside a host of exciting awards the inability to have the event take place with true international flair and resources has resulted in the unfortunate decision to postpone the event.

With businesses begin opened under ‘Phased’ steps  the outlook for returning to racing in many parts of the country has already begun.  Unfortunately, the state New York, which has been most heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic (mainly New York City) has caused the entire state be on a lengthened return to normalcy.

Patrick Woods-Toth has secured the champion’s title at the first-ever running of the Rotax SIM RACING Challenge. Taking P2 in the opening Pre-Final, Patrick matched the pace of fastest qualifier and race winner Johnny Guindi - with nothing between them.

UAE Rotax MAX Challenge 2019-20 ROUND 8 will be held 25-26 September 2020. The Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy has responded to the ongoing corona pandemic and revised the 2020 calendar again.

BRP-Rotax yearly recognizes the efforts of its karting distributors to demonstrate sales achievements linked with operational excellence that lead to strengthen BRP-Rotax’s sales and marketing efforts in respective areas around the world. In times like this when our world changes in increasing pace it is even more important to acknowledge the outstanding work of its partners. BRP-Rotax therefore proudly announced the top three members of the BRP-Rotax 2019 Karting Distributor of the Year Award:

1st place: JAG Engineering, UK

2nd place: SODIKART S.A., France

3rd place: International Karting Distributors (IKD), Australia

Around 150 drivers headed to the "Home Of Champions" in the first weekend of March, representing 16 different nations, to battle against the very best in Rotax racing circles, with six different classes in action.

Motorsport UK, the British Kart Championships and all associated stakeholders have collectively agreed to postpone the start of the 2020 season until 1 May at the earliest.
