Rodin Carlin’s Callum Voisin posted the quickest time, but then brought out a late red flag in the second GB3 free practice session of the day at Zandvoort.
The British-Swiss contender set a time of 1m32.167s just before a mid-session stoppage, and when rain returned upon the resumption, his time remained unbeaten for the remainder of the 45 minute practice. His session ended in the barriers with front-end damage at turn one however with over five minutes remaining, with insufficient time to restart the session afterwards. That meant he ended up over two tenths of a second clear of Elite’s McKenzy Cresswell, who had topped the times himself before Voisin took over, with Hitech Pulse-Eight’s Alex Dunne third and 0.027s further back.
Douglas Motorsport’s Tymek Kucharczyk was next up in fourth, a tenth clear of Zak Taylor, with the Chris Dittmann Racing contender ensuring five different teams were represented at the top of the times. Hitech’s Souta Arao was sixth, a tenth ahead of teammate Michael Shin, while Max Esterson was the lead Fortec runner in eighth. Session one pace setter Nico Christodoulou was ninth this time around for Arden VRD, with teammate Noah Ping completing the top-10 despite causing the second red flag of the session after beaching his car in the gravel half way through. Fortec’s Jarrod Waberski caused the other stoppage, after stopping his car inside the first three minutes.
Series newcomers Jack Sherwood (CDR) and Patrick Heuzenroeder (Elite) were 16th and 21st respectively, as they continued to adapt to GB3 machinery.
The final session of the day at Zandvoort is due to take place at 17.30 local time (16.30 UK).
