Van Amersfoort Racing confirms Gowda, Dupe and Macedo for 2026 FIA FREC season

The Dutch team continues its long-standing tradition

Van Amersfoort Racing has confirmed its driver line-up for the 2026 FIA Formula Regional European Championship, with Dion Gowda set to return alongside newcomers Andrea Dupe and Francisco Macedo.

The Dutch team, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in motorsport in 2025 after decades of success and multiple international titles, continues its commitment to developing young talent in the categories that form the pathway to the top levels of single-seater racing.

The programme also marks a continuation of VAR’s presence in Formula Regional, a category the team has been involved in since 2019.

Team principal Brad Joyce will once again rely on India’s Gowda, who remains with the squad for a second consecutive season. The 18-year-old, a former karter, spent two years in Formula 4 before stepping up to Formula Regional last year, where he secured several top-10 finishes and the Rookie title.

Joining him will be French driver Andrea Dupe. Born in 2008, Dupe progressed through karting before moving into Formula 4, where he completed his rookie season in 2025.

Francisco Macedo will also make his debut in the championship. The Portuguese driver, who recently turned 18, already has two years of single-seater experience and now steps up to Formula Regional aiming to quickly establish himself among the front runners.
