Miron sweeps the heats as Blanco leads OK into Sarno’s deciding day
After Thursday’s qualifying established the first order at Sarno, Friday put that pace to the test in wheel-to-wheel racing. Twelve qualifying heats in warm, dry conditions at Circuito Internazionale Napoli brought decisive victories, costly setbacks and spectacular finishes, with little room for error at the final round of the 2026 Champions of the Future Euro Series. Some strengthened their position, others were left chasing a recovery, and the stakes climbed with every race as the season’s deciding day drew closer.
Miron sets the standard
In OK Junior, Daniel Miron Lorente was the driver to beat, winning all three of his qualifying heats to head the intermediate classification with a perfect record. Niccolò Perico matched that consistency with three second-place finishes to secure second overall, while race winner Antonio Pizzonia ended the day third. Miguel Manzano Suarez and Gioele Girardello completed the top five.
Behind them, fortunes swung throughout the day. Will Green and Jarlath Sayer both claimed victories, but difficult results elsewhere left them eighth and ninth overall. Leonardo Gorski’s pace brought him into the fight at the front, although a damaged track rod and a later clash with Green proved costly. With title contender Priam Bruno down in 16th, Saturday offers plenty of opportunity for the order to change.
Blanco leads, Baglin fights back
Bruno Blanco combined a victory with second and third places to finish Friday on top of the OK intermediate classification. Noah Baglin responded to a penalty in his opening race with two consecutive wins, securing second overall ahead of Niklas Schaufler. Henry Domain and Benjamin Manach also tasted victory and completed the top five.
The day’s biggest reversal came when contact between Manach and Lev Krutoholov took both out of the lead battle, opening the door for Domain. Both recovered to finish first and second in their final race, while a spectacular three-wide finish involving Bosco Arias, Blanco and Schaufler underlined how closely matched the field remains. Zac Drummond, meanwhile, ended Friday 19th and faces a recovery on the deciding day.
One last day to decide it
Tomorrow, Saturday 12 September, brings the Super Heats, the Finals and the conclusion of the 2026 Champions of the Future Euro Series. Friday’s performances have shaped the starting order, but there is still time for a comeback, a breakthrough or one final twist in the title battles. A season of work comes down to one last day in Sarno, with both race victories and championship honours on the line.
