At its meeting on 7th June, 2018 in Manila, Philippines, the FIA ​​World Motor Sport Council made the following decisions based on the proposals of the International Karting Commission.

The third of the four Competitions of the CIK-FIA European Championship and the CIK-FIA European Junior Championship will be particularly important for the conquest of the titles. The weather conditions were ideal for the first round of the CIK-FIA European Superkart Championship of 2018 at Donington on 2nd and 3rd June. The favourites were unsurprisingly fastest, but the pack appeared homogeneous, allowing many Drivers to aspire to a reasonable finish. The progress of the two races was similar and the German Peter Elkmann, the 2017 Champion, dominated the racing without surprises.

It has already been seven seasons since LeCont was selected, following invitations for tender, to supply the tyres for the major CIK-FIA International Championships. Since 2011, a total of 14 categories have benefited from the technology of the Italian manufacturer. The year 2018 season marks a new path for LeCont, present in Endurance, the Academy Trophy, KZ2 and KZ, where the best drivers in the world compete. 

The Kart Grand Prix of Great Britain reached its climax on Sunday, 20th May, 2018 on the circuit of PF International. During three days of good weather and intense competition, the best European Drivers were able to engage in a magnificent confrontation before concluding with two exciting final Races.

The second Competition in the 2018 season includes the opening of the CIK-FIA European KZ and KZ2 Championships, as well as the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy. Among the many topics that are attracting his attention, CIK-FIA President Felipe Massa wants to promote the development of the KZ category. Therefore, the President decided on an exceptional reopening of entries for the 2018 CIK-FIA European KZ Championship until Thursday, 26th April 2018 at 11:59 pm.

During the first round of the FIA ​​Karting European Championship, the Birel ART Racing team was eager to show that the work done during the races at the beginning of the season had paid off. With Luigi Coluccio and Marijn Kremers in OK, as well as with Lorenzo Ressico D'Aloisio and Thomas Ten Brinke in OK-Junior, the Birel ART-TM karts enabled the young drivers of the team to reveal excellent potential during the Finals.
