After a sunny Thursday, light but persistent rain wetted the track at Wackersdorf until the early morning of Friday, 3rd May, 2019. The sun however managed to dry the Bavarian asphalt before the lunch break and the conditions were ideal for Qualifying Practice.

Wackersdorf returns to the FIA Karting calendar this year after hosting the 2017 World Championship. This time it is to launch the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ and KZ2, as well as the 10th edition of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy from 3rd to 5th May 2019 for the second Competition of the season.

After a positive first experience in OK-Junior in the BNL Series Karting at Genk, the young Luxembourg rookie Maxime Furon-Castelain made his grand debut in the FIA ​​Junior Karting European Championship during the opening race at Angerville (FRA). At just 11 years old, Maxime proved uncompromising and effective in his first international race at a highly contested meeting.

Gabriele Minì and the Parolin Racing team learned their lessons from the Angerville French Championship meeting to prepare for the first round of the FIA ​​Karting European Championship - OK, which was held on the same circuit two weeks later. Thanks to his extremely effective equipment, the Sicilian driver was able to avoid the pitfalls of this difficult race to wisely finish in 3rd place in the Final and the provisional classification.

On the circuit in Angerville, in a high-level race meeting, our drivers start making their progress real and our material shows its good qualities. With the French Grand Prix, the Kosmic Kart European tour is starting. A very important event for our colours with 18 chassis at the starting line.

The first round of the FIA ​​Karting European Championship - OK & Junior was held in France on the Angerville circuit. It was the scene of serious clashes generating many incidents. The competitiveness of the equipment and the talent of the drivers had much to do to overcome crashes and penalties. Only Alex Irlando was successful with his 8th position in OK to show the potential of the Birel ART Racing team.

During the French Grand Prix, bad luck partially affected the good performances of our standard-bearers. Josep Maria Martì nearly reached the podium in OKJ. In the first weekend of FIA Karting European Championship in Angerville, our drivers are always fighting for top positions. Unfortunately, some bad luck prevents them from achieving results up to our performances.

CRG drivers have been among the protagonists in Angerville (France) at the opener of the FIA Karting European Championship. Hiltbrand shining in OK’s qualifying and heats, Bortoleto sixth in the Final. Trulli among the best of qualifying in OK-Junior.

The first Competition of the FIA ​​Karting European Championship - OK & Junior has benefited from dry and hot weather in Angerville. The 2019 season of FIA Karting European Championship is starting on the Gabriel Thirouin Circuit, with our drivers racing in both categories.
