The FIA Karting event in Wackersdorf kept its promises right to the end. The final qualifying heats on Sunday morning had set the tone. The battles were lively in every race and the fight for victory was intense in all three categories. Senna van Walstijn (NLD) won the KZ2 final in style to round off his superb overall performance.

The FIA Karting European Championship - KZ2 was led at this stage by Dutchman Senna Van Walstijn, while Sri Lankan Yevan David took the lead in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy.

The weather was fine and warm in Germany for the Qualifying sessions of the FIA Karting event in Wackersdorf. The sessions were intense in all three classes where the drivers were discovering the MG Tires in race condition. The gaps were particularly close in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy, where poleman Bart Harrison (GBR) won with a lead of seven hundredths of a second. Senna van Walstijn (NLD) set the fastest time in the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ2 with obvious brilliance. Finally, the pole position for Emilien Denner (FRA) in the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ attests to the mastery of the driver and his team.

The second round of the FIA European Karting Championship put a smile back on Arthur Rogeon’s face and revived his confidence within his new team, Ward Racing. When the young driver from Laval arrived at the Aunay-les-Bois circuit he was brimming with enthusiasm and impatient to get back in the thick of the action. He left there satisfied as to his perspectives for the rest of the season in the OK category. He showed consistency and performance in the French round that deserved a happier ending.

From 60 Mini to KZ2, you can always count on the Energy Corse team in the major international events! The young Latvian Tomass Stolcermanis demonstrated this during the second round of the FIA Karting European Championship by finishing 3rd in the OK-Junior category. His Russian teammate Tigran Bunatyan was also at the forefront in France on the Aunay les Bois circuit. Proof that the Energy Corse-TM Racing teams will be a force to be reckoned with throughout the 2021 season.

Competing in the OK category among the world's top karting hopefuls when you have just moved up from Junior remains a difficult exercise and Jesse Carrasquedo experienced this again during the second round of the FIA Karting European Championship. In France, on the Aunay les Bois circuit, the promising Mexican driver showed an excellent level of performance, but faced too many racing incidents. His Final result was unfortunately affected.

James Wharton, who performed well in Belgium for the opening round of the FIA Karting European Championship in the OK category, arrived in France with a lot of ambition and the desire to make his mark in this second round of the season. Unfortunately, the Qualifying sessions caused him to plunge down the ranking. Always a fighter, the young Australian driver put in a lot of effort to climb back up, but the final result was not up to the Ferrari Driver Academy driver's expectations. Revenge is already in preparation...

The CRG Racing Team weekend in Essay in France, where the 2^nd Round of the FIA ​​European Championship of the OK & OKJ classes took place from the 27th to the 30th May, was once again made of a series of lights and shadows. The performances of the CRG drivers were characterized by ups and downs, due to some difficulties in finding a correct set-up balance with the MG tires used in this Championship. The Junior drivers in particular expressed themselves below their potential, lacking the qualification among the finalists.

Matheus Morgatto and William Macintyre achieved the best results for the Birel ART Racing team in France during the second round of the FIA Karting European Championship - OK & Junior. Although the unique Aunay-les-Bois track was not always favourable to the drivers from the Lissone factory, the standard of performance of the Birel ART chassis with TM Racing engines proved to be very satisfactory.

At the end of an exciting weekend of racing in France, Matheus Ferreira (BRA) in OK-Junior and Andrea Kimi Antonelli (ITA) in OK were the winners of the Event, giving the FIA Karting European Championship - OK & Junior a very interesting twist.

The European OK and OK-Junior battle will continue in France. Known for its technical characteristics and its gradient, the international circuit of Aunay-les-Bois / Essay will offer a different setting to Genk. If the weather remains as favorable as the forecasts predict, the competition should allow the Drivers unlucky in Belgium to climb back up the Championship rankings. We can therefore expect some tough battles in Normandy.
