The FIA Karting season continues in Spain as the first round of the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ & KZ2 is set to take place from 14th to 16th April 2023 at the Circuito Internacional Zuera near Zaragoza in central Spain. 123 names are on the entry list representing 24 nations, most of them European.

The Italian team refueled during the winter break and set off again to attack the podiums, which have already been numerous in 2023. From the Winter Cup, Martin Molnar triumphed in OK. In WSK, Danny Carenini won in IAME-X30 Junior at the Open Series, before winning again a week later at the famous Andrea Margutti Trophy. On the demanding Valencia track, Joe Turney made the difference in the OK Final with panache, while the KR chassis took the OK-Junior double with an impressive Thibaut Ramaekers followed by Oleksandr Bondarev. In Spain the KR chassis was also the best represented in both OK and OK-Junior.

Parolin Motorsport's energy since the beginning of the season was rewarded with a great podium finish for Rene Lammers in the opening race of the FIA Karting European Championship - OK in Valencia and his 2nd position in the provisional standings. Anatoly Khavalkin’s return to 9th place is also good news. In the Junior class, Zac Drummond put in a remarkable performance, regularly finishing in the top five in the heats, 8th in the Final and 6th in the championship.

In the beautiful Spanish weather, the races provided an intense sporting spectacle in which the best placed drivers at the start were not guaranteed to climb to the top of the podium. Belgian Thibaut Ramaekers won the Junior Final and Briton Joe Turney gained five places to win the OK Final.
