The newly developed “Project E20” electric kart from BRP-Rotax is probably the most important “asset” in this year’s DEKM season. “More power, a longer battery life and a reduced weight boost the performance of the German Electric Kart Championship to a whole new level,” says Oliver Schielein, Managing Director of IKmedia, the promoter of the series. During the first test drives, the new e-kart received an extremely enthusiastic reception from drivers. “We now want to ensure that we do not endanger the success of our most important asset by starting off with the handbrake engaged,” says Schielein.

Finally, the German Kart Championship starts the new racing season with its five grade series. The start of the season will take place in Kerpen from August 7^th to 9^th. Nearly 140 drivers compete in the first races. The event takes place in compliance with a strict hygiene concept.

From August 7-9th, the German Kart Championship is planning to start the 2020 season. But before the engines of the highest German karting championship buzz again on the Erftlandring, it was necessary to adjust to the current Corona situation. In recent weeks, an extensive hygiene concept has been developed. The races will be subject to final approval by the local authorities.

Mr Schielein, the German Electric Kart Championship (DEKM) recently published its new race calendar for 2020. Did you find it challenging to organise?

Jenni Wade and Björn Niemann presented the DKM racing calendar 2020. Due to the Corona crisis, this also had to be adjusted. The participants can look forward to four thrilling racing weekends. The starting shot is fired at the Erftlandring in Kerpen, then on to Mülsen, Wackersdorf and the final in Ampfing.

In the past weeks, we have been monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation very closely and have been taking all measures to ensure we are ready if possible to start the championship as planned.

The Corona virus also causes a postponement in the German Kart Championship. The season kick-off was supposed to take place in Ampfing from May 8th – 10th. The race is now being moved to October.

After a long winter break, riders, teams and organizers are looking forward to the start of the German Kart Championship 2020. It starts on the Schweppermannring in Ampfing. The first race of the year will take place in Bavaria from May 8th to 10th. Afterwards, it continues to Wackersdorf, Kerpen, Mülsen and Genk in Belgium.

Bent Viscaal will enter into his second FIA Formula 3 Championship season this year after signing with MP Motorsport, the 20-year-old aiming to reap the benefits of a promising debut season in the Formula 1 feeder series by joining the Dutch team.

The trade visitors showed great interest in the German Electric Kart Championship [DEKM]. Registrations for the new season are in full swing at www.dekm.de and we hope that our great progress – in particular in the technical field – will convince many young drivers to join our series.

This weekend, 25th - 26th January 2020, the international kart fair is going to take place for the 28th time in Offenbach on the Main. Next to numerous news regarding kart racing, the German Motorsports Foundation (DMSB) is also going to present itself in hall A1. The five grade series of the German Kart Championship are also going to be there. The new BRP-Rotax E-Kart “Project E20” of the DEKM will also be presented.

In 2020, the German Electric Kart Championship (DEKM) is already starting into its third season and offering numerous highlights again. All five racing events are going to take place in Germany this time. The DEKM is going to start in Wackersdorf twice. Due to a new E-kart by technical partner BRP-Rotax, the participants can look forward to more power and longer race durations.

The kick-off to the German Kart Championship 2020 season is going to happen on January 6^th at 12 o’clock with the start of the online registration. Interested drivers can register for the four grade series DKM (OK), DJKM (OK-Junior), DSKM (KZ2) and DSKC (KZ2) on the website www.kart-dm.de. The racing calendar consists of five races spread over Germany and Belgium.

Shortly after the season finale, the German Kart Championship presents its calendar for the year 2020. There will be five races again, spread from May to October. Next to well-known locations, the highest German kart racing series is going to take place on the new kart racing track in Mülsen (Saxony) for the first time.

The German Electric Kart Championship (DEKM) celebrated its racing premiere last weekend in Bavarian Ampfing. The first pure electric kart racing series in the world started on the Schweppermannring for the first time and experienced partly thrilling races. The victories went to the two title favorites Luka Wlömer and Jasin Ferati.
