The upcoming weekend, the German Electric Kart Championship (DEKM) starts into the second half of the season, additionally to a new edition at Prokart Raceland, Wackersdorf. With four winners in four races so far, the race weekend promises a lot of excitement. The overall classification is currently led by Joel Mesch.

In the 2020 season, the racing calendar of the German Kart Championship will not come to rest. After the cancellation of the final in Ampfing, the race now moves to Oschersleben. Thus, after four years, the race track is again part of the DKM calendar. The final races will take place as planned from October 16^th to 18^th.

Only a week after the season kick-off, the German Electric Kart Championship (DEKM) travelled on to Wackersdorf. Within the framework of the Rotax Max Challenge Euro Trophy, the participants experienced exciting race decisions. Axel La Flamme and Diego Stifter ended up as the winners.

The worldwide Corona pandemic also caused a late start into the season of the German Electric Kart Championship (DEKM). Next weekend, things will get going though: On the traditional Erftlandring in Kerpen, the unique electric kart racing series is going to start into its third season. A newly developed high performance racing E-kart, longer racing distances and an attractive field of participants promise lots of excitement.

After the German Kart Championship announced the relocation of the second race weekend to Kerpen a few days ago, a survey of the participants followed. They wish for the normal driving direction, thus, the second event will take place counterclockwise as usual.

Three weeks before the premiere of the German Kart Championship on the new racetrack in Mülsen (Saxony), the organizer Kart-Club-Sachsen e.V. cancels the event. The newly developed “Project E20” electric kart from BRP-Rotax is probably the most important “asset” in this year’s DEKM season. “More power, a longer battery life and a reduced weight boost the performance of the German Electric Kart Championship to a whole new level,” says Oliver Schielein, Managing Director of IKmedia, the promoter of the series. During the first test drives, the new e-kart received an extremely enthusiastic reception from drivers. “We now want to ensure that we do not endanger the success of our most important asset by starting off with the handbrake engaged,” says Schielein.

Finally, the German Kart Championship starts the new racing season with its five grade series. The start of the season will take place in Kerpen from August 7^th to 9^th. Nearly 140 drivers compete in the first races. The event takes place in compliance with a strict hygiene concept.
