Branden Templeton joins Fox Motorsport for GB4 Championship debut

Fox Motorsport has confirmed Branden Templeton as the team’s second driver for the 2024 GB4 Championship.

The 17-year-old from Caterham, Surrey, is set to make his car racing debut with the team at the opening round of the championship at Oulton Park on Easter weekend (March 29-April 1), having impressed in pre-season testing.

Branden began competing in Mini X30 go-karting at age 11 and progressed through the Junior and Senior ranks, competing in the prestigious IAME Euro Series and the Valencia Winter Cup as well as winning the 60th anniversary of Kimbolton Kart Club Trophy.

Having tested Ginetta Junior and GB4 machinery since a pandemic-enforced layoff from karting competition in 2020-21, he is now ready to tackle the intensely competitive GB4 Championship, which will be held over seven rounds this year.

Fox Motorsport, from Maldon, Essex, chose GB4 in 2023 for the team’s maiden season in single-seater racing and won on their debut weekend in the series at Oulton Park.

Two victories and 10 podium finishes resulted in third in the Drivers’ standings. Fox have previously won in the British GT Championship, International GT Open and 24H Series and secured titles in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup and GT5 Challenge.

Branden Templeton said: “I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Fox Motorsport this year to race in the 2024 GB4 Championship. The speed Fox showed in 2023 combined with a great initial test at Silverstone, where I felt at home right away, means I’m confident that can achieve good results with them. It’s a new challenge, but I’m surrounded by great people and I’m excited to see how the season goes.”

Team Principal Paul McNeilly said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Branden to the team. He tested very well at both Silverstone and Oulton Park and we can clearly see the potential he has behind the wheel. We’re confident that if he delivers to the best of his ability and keeps learning as the year progresses, he’ll be in for some very good results.”
