The 17-year-old British driver will contest the upcoming season in the team’s colours, joining a squad that has produced the category’s last three Drivers’ Champions: Gabriel Bortoleto, Leonardo Fornaroli and Rafael Câmara. Slater is currently leading the Formula Regional Championship, with an impressive record of five victories, eight podiums and four pole positions. The Brit already has a taste of FIA Formula 3, having impressed earlier this year in his outings at Sakhir and Spa-Francorchamps — appearances that were enough to secure his first podium in the series. Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager, Trident Motorsport: “We are very pleased to announce our agreement with Freddie Slater for the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship. Freddie is an exceptionally talented driver who has consistently shown himself to be among the very best, in every category he has raced, from karting to single-seaters. It is a source of great pride for us to welcome him into the team, and we are convinced that a driver of his calibre will bring significant value to the entire organisation.” Freddie Slater, driver: “It’s really exciting to start a new journey with a new team. Trident has had a lot of success in recent years, so to be jumping into a team like this, I’m really grateful for the opportunity. Hopefully we’ll have a good season together.” Previous Article Tony Kart finishes third in the Champions of the Future 2025 Next Article Emma Scarbrough to represent KICK Sauber F1 Team in F1 Academy rookie test Print 102 Rate this article: No rating Tags: Freddie SlaterGabriel BortoletoLeonardo FornaroliRafael CâmaraTrident MotorsportGiacomo Ricci2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship Comments Please login or register to post comments.
