A new category will be added to the SWS from 2026. This is a high-performance racing category designed to meet the evolving needs of the two-stroke driver community. The R-Sprint Cup will begin on 1st January 2026 in the SWS rankings and will have its international Final in 2027.
In addition to the strong four-stroke community and rapid growth in electric racing, the Leisure/Racing concept fits perfectly into the SWS. Unlike the experiments in Sport carried out until 2023 during the international finals, this involves introducing a fully-fledged two-stroke category into the SWS rankings. Currently, around twenty SWS tracks, mainly in France, offer two-stroke equipment. But with 600 drivers ranked in 2024, the activity is attracting growing interest. The official launch of the Sport category and the creation of a dedicated final will boost participation around the world, as has been the case with electric racing.
The new segmentation thus established will enable the training of Leisure/Racing specialists who will be able to make the most of this more demanding equipment. A true bridge between Leisure and classic Competition, the Sport category has solid attributes to attract participants drawn to a new challenge. The appeal of superior power and performance is indeed felt by the most experienced or daring members of the SWS community.
A specific chassis
The Sodi Sport has been developed by the Sodikart factory over the last few years for this purpose. It is a specific chassis that is well suited to the powerful engines found on certain leisure tracks. It has light and precise steering and offers sporty handling while retaining the reassuring presence of protective features. It offers a good compromise between leisure and competition.
Rotax Max engine
Rotax is a natural partner for this Sport category. The manufacturing quality of its Rotax Max is well established. This engine, available in different configurations, has enjoyed huge global success for nearly 30 years. Powerful and reliable, it is also extremely easy to use. It is a true competition engine assembled with the utmost care, offering remarkable endurance qualities. A 125 cc two-stroke engine with clutch and electric starter, it is the ideal solution for the SWS Sport category. Its power ranges from 23 to 30 hp, depending on the versions chosen by the circuits.
The R-Sprint Cup coming in 2026
The Sport category will be integrated into the SWS from 1st January 2026 through the R-Sprint Cup for drivers aged 15 and over. Find your nearest circuit hosting this new category on the SWS website. Only Sprint will be on the Sport programme to begin with, but it is not out of the question that Endurance will be added later.
An International Sport final in 2027
Once all the parameters of this new category have been examined in practice, an international final will be proposed in 2027 on a specially selected circuit, which is yet to be determined.
