We interviewed prominent members of the French and international federations and the karting community: it seems that no disabled driver has, to date, participated in an official event counting for an FIA European Karting Championship. Maxime Léger, the driver of Tours region’s local karting club, ASK Val de Loire, three times FFSA French Handikart champion, will be the first to take up the challenge of competing against the best drivers in the world on the Aunay-les-Bois circuit near Alençon from May 28 to 30.

After a first Event complicated by the weather in Belgium, the FIA Karting European Championship - OK & Junior is coming to France from 27th to 30th May 2021. Many participants are approaching this second event with the determination to move up the rankings thanks to conditions that everyone hopes will be milder.

The CRG team collected less than what it deserved in Genk (Belgium), where the 1^st round of the OK and OK Junior European Championships took place from 12^th to 16^th May. The entire race weekend was marked by very changeable weather conditions: since the free practice on Thursday, it was a continuous alternation of dry and wet track.

The team demonstrated its worth in Genk during the first round of the FIA Karting European Championship OK-OKJ and skillfully faced a difficult weekend characterised by unstable weather.

The changeable weather conditions during the Saturday heats were particularly difficult for the Parolin Motorsport drivers to cope with, despite the proven potential of the Parolin/TM Racing packages. James Wharton showed excellent competitiveness in OK, while Rashid Al Dhaheri and Enzo Deligny returned to the Final top 10 in OK-Junior.

On the occasion of the first round of the FIA Karting European Championship reserved for the OK and OKJ classes, the Kosmic Racing Department obtains a third place in the “Junior” category with Ean Eyckmans. In the same class, a chassis of their wins with Freddie Slater.

Highly anticipated by all the best hopefuls of international karting, the 2021 OK European Championship started in Genk, Belgium. James Wharton reached a high level of competitiveness, despite the difficult weather conditions that put the 72 drivers involved to the test. The Australian from the Ferrari Driver Academy was up to 7th in the Final, before being forced to drop to 14th after an unfortunate penalty.

Saturday 15th May was a day filled with the majority of the Qualifying Heats of the 2021 FIA Karting European Championship - OK and Junior, and was marked by very changeable weather conditions. The circuit of Genk (BEL) was indeed the plaything of an unusually capricious weather situation and the forecast became very random. However Lindblad in OK and Eyckmans in OK-Junior were convincingly prominent.

On Friday 14 May, 174 drivers from 42 countries took part in the Qualifying Practice for the first of the four 2021 FIA Karting European Championship - OK and Junior - events at the Genk circuit (BEL). The changing weather situation played a role in the overall standings, although the track remained dry apart from a short shower in the second timed OK session. Singapore's Askay Bohra took the Junior pole position and the American Ugo Ugochukwu took the top class.

The first round of the European Karting Championship for the OK and OK Junior direct drive classes will take place this weekend at the Genk circuit, in Belgium. The FIA European Championship is made of 4 appointments: after the Belgian opening race, we will head to Essay in France, then Sarno (Italy) and the last race is scheduled in July on the Spanish track of Zuera.

The organisation of the Champions of the Future by RGMMC in Belgium has certainly marked an important turning point in the 2021 sporting season. The first international competition of the year to leave Italian territory was accompanied by the discovery of the MG Tyres destined to equip all FIA Karting events, starting with the opener of the OK and Junior European Championship on the same circuit in less than two weeks. The harshness of the races at Genk did not always allow the Parolin Motorsport drivers to show the competitiveness of their equipment, but James Wharton's comeback in the OK Prefinal and the 7th and 8th Final places for Rashid Al Dhaheri and Enzo Deligny in OK-Junior were a testament to the level of performance of the Parolin chassis, equipped with TM Racing engines.

The 2021 season opened in Genk with enormous fields in the OK Junior and OK categories. All of today’s stars of karting showed their presence at the Belgian track, giving a glimpse of possible future champions of karting and beyond!

The Tony Kart Racing Team hits the top 3, with three drivers, in the OK and OKJ category’s finals of the first round of the Champions of the Future. Tuukka Taponen and Joseph Turney are 2^nd and 3^rd positions respectively in the "major" class, Harley Keeble is 2^nd place in the Junior.
