Thirty Qualifying heats were run in Valencia, 15 in each category, to establish the intermediate classification of the first round of the 2023 FIA Karting European Championships - OK and Junior. OK poleman Gabriel Gomez (BRA) managed a clean sweep and remains the unbeaten leader of the category. Elliot Kaczynski (SWE) took the lead in the Junior class against Taym Saleh (DEU).

The FIA Karting European Championships - OK and Junior have just started in Spain at the Kartódromo Internacional Lucas Guerrero in Valencia with 169 participants. The 1^st Round of the FIA ​​European Championship for the OK & OK-Junior categories is scheduled for this weekend in Spain on the Valencia track. Over 180 drivers will compete in the two international direct drive classes with the aim of earning the first points of a Championship made of 4 rounds. After Spain, the Series will move to the Czech Republic in May, to Denmark in June, and will then end in Cremona in Italy on July 30^th.

In March 2022, the FIA World Motor Sport Council approved the use of biofuel in FIA Karting competitions from 2023.

The weekend of 11th-12th March was a busy one for Parolin Motorsport, who had to split their efforts between Spain and Italy.
