It’s been a month packed with action for the Sauber Academy, with testing, racing, simulator work and training. As March unfolded, four of our five young drivers officially kicked off their respective 2024 campaigns between Europe, the Middle East, and Japan.

Sauber Academy is set to further expand its roster of young talents in 2024, as Zane Maloney is announced as the latest inductee of the team’s driver development programme. The young Barbadian will also take on the role of Reserve Driver for Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber at several Grands Prix during the 2024 Formula One season, sharing the duties with fellow Sauber Academy driver, Théo Pourchaire.

Sauber Academy’s Léna Bühler is set to make a further step forward in the motorsport ladder in 2024, as she prepares to debut in the Formula Regional European Championship. The Swiss driver, who was the 2023 F1 Academy runner-up, will continue racing for ART Grand Prix, proudly supported by Sauber Academy.

There is a new addition to our roster of young, talented drivers, as Carrie Schreiner is announced as the team’s contender in the 2024 F1 Academy series. The 25-year-old German driver will be representing the team in the second season of the all-female series, racing one of the Campos Racing entries in the Sauber team’s colours.

Sauber Academy reflects on a successful season of racing, with its 2023 lineup, made of Théo Pourchaire, Léna Bühler, Marcus Amand, and Taym Saleh, collecting podiums and outstanding results throughout their respective campaigns.

Sauber Academy driver, Théo Pourchaire, crowned an incredible season by claiming the FIA F2 Championship title, courtesy of a fine performance that saw him finish fifth in the Feature Race at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The ten points acquired lifted the Frenchman out of the reach of his only rival left in contention, Frederik Vesti, and wrote the Sauber Academy driver’s name in the history books – not just as 2023 FIA F2 Champion, but also as the first-ever Sauber driver to become single-seater Champion.

Following a month-long break from racing, the Sauber Academy drivers returned to action both on and off the track, collecting podiums and bringing forward their respective campaigns as they each enter the final stages of the season.

It was a busy month on and off track for the Sauber Academy drivers, who kept up with the good performances shown in the past months: there were wins and podiums, as they carried the name of the Sauber Academy all over Europe.

Formula 2 front-runner, Théo Pourchaire, and Brazilian driver, Roberto Faria, who is competing in the GB3 Championship (British F3), will be the class of 2022 of Sauber Academy, Sauber Motorsport’s programme aimed at developing the racing stars of tomorrow.
 

The summer break may well be a memory already, with action resuming in Belgium this weekend: for the Sauber Academy drivers, it is now time to prepare for the end-of-season run-in, hoping to carry results and form over from a busy opening half of the year.
 

The start of the 2021 season has been a hectic one for the Sauber Academy inductees, who have been battling on many fronts as they aim to stake their claims to successful campaigns in their series. With the quality of our squad spread across a wide range of series, we’re aiming to round-up the results of the Sauber youngsters as we approach the hot months of summer.

Sauber Academy driver Emerson Fittipaldi jr. will make the step up to formula cars as he makes his debut in Danish F4 in 2021. The 14-year-old will add the Scandinavian series alongside his current OK karting programme on a busy year in which the Brazilian will accrue important single-seater experience.
