Sofia Zanfari kicks off 2026 with a podium finish at Nogaro

Following a promising debut season, Sofia Zanfari begins her second year in the French F4 Championship with fresh ambitions. No fewer than 32 drivers competed in the single-seaters at the traditional Easter Cup races on the Gascon circuit as part of the French Circuit Championship. Seven female drivers, each more competitive than the last, went head-to-head in F4.

At 19, the young Moroccan can draw on a wealth of experience in international karting. Since her debut in the 60 Mini class in 2014, Sofia has competed in numerous races on circuits across Europe, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. A competitive driver in OK and OK-N, she made a name for herself in the Champions of the Future Academy Program’s OK-N class.

On her single-seater debut last year, Sofia finished on the women’s podium several times in the French F4 Championship. Building on this momentum, she began her 2026 programme at Nogaro. Consistently strong in the private practice sessions on the Friday before the race, she even finished 2nd among the women at the end of the final session before taking a podium finish in Race 2.

Facing very strong competition, Sofia showed great competitiveness at the start of what promises to be an exciting season. Her goal is to join the F1 Academy in 2027, the all-female series created to help young drivers reach the top levels. Led by Susie Wolff, this category enjoys high visibility thanks to its inclusion in the Formula 1 Grand Prix calendar.
