SJM Theodore PREMA Racing Ready to Take on the FIA FR World Cup with a Trio of Star Drivers

The 72nd Macau Grand Prix will be held from 13 to 16 November at the Guia Circuit. SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) once again serves as a major sponsor of the prestigious event and continues its title sponsorship of the SJM Theodore Racing, reaffirming its commitment to supporting world-class motorsport. On 12 November, SJM hosted “A Racing Legacy – SJM Theodore PREMA Racing Press Conference” at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau to introduce the elite three-driver lineup of the SJM Theodore PREMA Racing competing in the FIA FR World Cup. Attending the press conference were Dr. Rui Cunha, Secretary-General of SJM; Mr. Teddy Yip Jr., Team President of SJM Theodore Racing; as well as the three star racers who are set to compete in this year’s FIA FR World Cup.

Ms. Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM, gave a warm welcome to the team and remarked: “Alongside Theodore Racing, we are now in our eleventh year of partnership, having written many proud chapters in Macau’s racing story together.” She added, “SJM will continue to uphold our multidimensional commitment to motorsport. From backing the Macau Grand Prix, to nurturing local drivers and team, and to fostering a lasting passion for the sport within our community, we take pride in building a sustainable ecosystem that supports every aspect of the sport and ensuring that Macau’s racing legacy continues to flourish with every generation.”

Mr. Teddy Yip Jr., Team President of SJM Theodore Racing, expressed: “It’s amazing to continue being part of the legendary Macau history together with SJM, and to continue a positive relationship that already led to winning the 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Championship title. While the world today is very different from the time when my father started this adventure, the trust and collaboration with our great partners and the results we achieve together is always what makes the difference. We are confident that Charles, Freddie, and Rashid will be able to challenge for the victory. We cannot wait for the start.”

This year’s Macau Grand Prix will once again spotlight the FIA FR World Cup, which will see SJM Theodore PREMA Racing’s three skilled racers ignite the Guia Circuit, one of the world’s toughest street circuits.

● Charles Leong Hon Chio (Macau, China): Two-time Macau Grand Prix champion and 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Series winner

● Freddie Slater (Britain): 2024 Italian Formula 4 champion and 2025 Formula 4 Regional European champion

● Rashid Al Dhaheri (UAE): 2024 Formula Trophy UAE vice-champion and 2023 Macau Grand Prix Formula 4 podium finisher

Charles Leong Hon Chio, driver of the #31 SJM Theodore PREMA Racing car, commented: “I’m delighted to be back at the Macau Grand Prix, and to do so with such a legendary team means a lot to me. After experiencing a very successful season together with SJM and Theodore Racing, I have the opportunity to chase my third Macau Grand Prix victory and I’m extremely thankful for that. This is one of the most difficult races in the world, but we are ready to fight for it.”

Freddie Slater, driver of the #11 SJM Theodore PREMA Racing car, added: “I’m buzzing to race on the best track in the world, Macau, and I’m grateful to be able to experience this incredible event. This race is very challenging, but we had a very successful year on the European circuit, and we want to carry that momentum into the weekend. I will do my absolute best to give SJM Theodore PREMA Racing the result they deserve.”

Rashid Al Dhaheri, driver of the #12 SJM Theodore PREMA Racing car, added: “I am really looking forward to the weekend. I started my career in Macau, competing in the kart race, and being able to represent Theodore Racing and SJM on the highest stage is a great achievement for me. After the podium in Formula 4 in 2023, and my debut in the Grand Prix last year, I’m confident we have everything we need to succeed, and I will do my absolute best to reward everyone in the team with a great result.”

Following the press conference, an interactive session titled “A Racing Legacy- Meet the Drivers” was held, joined by Irish driver Alex Denning, Leong’s teammate and co-champion of the 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Championship. Together, the drivers engaged with media representatives, sharing personal stories from their racing journeys both on and off the track. Members of SJM’s management team were also present at the paddock earlier in the day to show their strong support and encouragement for the team.

The four racers also visited the “A Racing Legacy- Racing Cars Display” currently on display at the East Entrance of Grand Lisboa Palace for group photos. Running until 30 November, the exhibition features the Lamborghini Huracán EVO2 supercar and a Formula Regional race car, bringing the victorious spirit of the SJM Theodore Racing to visitors and residents alike. Guests are invited to experience up close the allure of top-tier racing and celebrate the legacy of SJM Theodore Racing.
