ProKart Challenge to host round five at Sonoma Raceway

Superkarts! USA returning to northern California for first time since 2017 with regional program

TEMECULA – A significant weekend lies ahead for the ProKart Challenge program. The Superkarts! USA regional program is set to host Round Five of the 2025 schedule on August 23-24 at Sonoma Raceway. The weekend marks the first trip to the Sonoma, California facility for the organization since 2017 when they hosted the SKUSA Pro Tour SpringNationals.

Round Five action for the ProKart Challenge is going to take place on the ‘National Pro’ layout, which eliminates most of the famous Tic-Tac-Toe section of the course. Official practice begins on Saturday, August 23 with four rounds prior to qualifying to close out the day. Sunday, August 24 welcomes warm-up, Prefinal and Final to conclude action for Round Five for all categories.

The championship battles for the 2025 ProKart Challenge heads into the penultimate round following three rounds at K1 Circuit and one at the new Spring Mountain Karting Complex. A four-race win streak for Keagan Kaminski is on the line in the Formula Works KA100 Senior class. Kaminski holds a 235-point lead over Shea Aldrich and Jackson Menchu with his four wins over the first four rounds. Two wins have Matthew Cagle leading the way in the SuperSpeed Bearings KA100 Junior championship chase. He leads by 193 points over Erik Doan, with Round Two winner Sebastian Hauser a close third. Tim Meyer continues leading the Mike Manning Karting KA100 Master standings thanks to his two wins over the four rounds. The advantage is 329 points over Logan Manus, with Robert Switzler in third.

Three wins for Luis Martinez makes him the driver to beat in HRT Driver Development Mini Swift championship. Nathan Ramirez trails by 128 points, while Round Three winner Andrew Janus is in third. Matthew Paciulli is the only driver in the Sanner Racing Micro Swift class to win twice in 2025. His second win at Round Four extended his lead to 104 points over Round One victor Aidan Go. Two-time podium finisher Mason Brody sits third in the standings.

Newly crowned SKUSA Pro Tour champion Billy Musgrave has four podium results over the first four rounds in Precision Works Racing Engines Pro Shifter. Keawn Tandon and Anthony Freese are the two top challengers with two rounds remaining. The Mega Power Engines Master Shifter standings are led by Volodymyr Borodavchenko. The Round Three winner leads by 67 points over Michael Guasch, with Levi Bennett in third.

Erik Doan also holds a four-race win streak in the Nash Motorsportz Junior Shifter division. His advantage in the championship standings is 174 points over Nathan Dupuis, with Matthew Reinoehl sitting third. Troy Ferguson leads the Precision Karting Mini Shifter standings by 100 points over Brandon Ng and Sebastian de Moissac. Dane Idelson has taken over the championship lead in the P1 Engines Spec 125 class with his Round Four victory. Truly Adams now sits second, back by 26 points with Matthew McCoy in third. Jeff Krogstad continues leading the standings for the FZ Master division. Round Three winner Tony Rossetti is second with Larry Hernandez in third.

Race Pre-Entry is currently open for Round Five of the ProKart Challenge at Sonoma Raceway until the online registration deadline of Tuesday, August 19, at 11:59 pm PST. As always, a 2025 SKUSA membership is mandatory to register and compete. Complete race and venue information, along with a tentative weekend schedule, can be found at the PKC Event Page.
