Modena Kart concludes an exceptional year with two more podium finishes in WSK

In 2025, the Modena Kart Racing Team proved competitive in all the championships in which it competed, including the recent WSK Final Cup. In each of the three events, at least one of the team's drivers managed to finish on the podium in the OK-N Junior category. After Nojus Stasionis in Franciacorta and Ruzgar Evci in Cremona, Federico Mirabella put in a high-quality performance in Lonato at the wheel of his Parolin/TM Kart. Winner of the Super Heat, he managed to reach the third step of the podium. In the overall standings, Modena Kart Racing Team placed three drivers in the top eight, including Stasionis in a magnificent 3rd position.

Excellent management of conditions

Whether dry, rainy or cold, the weather conditions did not make the job of the drivers and teams any easier. Perfectly prepared to deal with this situation, common at the end of the season, the Modena Kart Racing Team immediately took 2nd place in the OK-N Junior Qualifying sessions with Lithuanian driver Nojus Stasionis, where all the karts were equipped with wet tyres. The level of performance was just as high the next day on slick tyres.

Seven drivers from the team made it to the final!

Stasionis finished P2 twice in the Qualifying Heats, including once with a fastest lap. Italian Federico Mirabella won a race, Ruzgar Evci gained 34 places in the intermediate classification, also with a fastest lap in a heat, and Alessandro Nanni also made a splendid gain of 20 places. The Super Heats allowed the Italian team to confirm the qualification for the Final of Italian Luigi D'Ascoli, American Grayson Walcott and Sweden's Elton Hedfors. That's a total of seven finalists, with Italian Marco Decker just a few points short of Qualifying in the top 36!

Evci added another fastest lap to his tally in Super Heat A, which was won by Mirabella, while Stasionis finished 2nd in Super Heat B, setting the fastest lap time. Mirabella remained very strong in the Final and had the satisfaction of climbing onto the third step of the podium. Nanni gained no less than eight places to finish 10th, and Stasionis scored enough points to secure 3rd place in the 2025 WSK Final Cup. The overall standings saw Mirabella move up to 5th, and Evci finish 8th.

Analysis by Gabriele Finocchi, Modena Kart Team Principal

"We are really having an incredible season: P1 and P3 in the FIA Karting World Cup, Italian Champion, P2 and P3 in the WSK Euro Series, P3 in the WSK Super Master Series and now P3 in the WSK Final Cup. That's a lot of podiums, and we are very proud of the work we have done. We have been able to put our drivers in the best possible position in a highly competitive international context. I would like to congratulate everyone around me who has worked so hard to achieve all these results, not forgetting M.A. Engines, Parolin and TM Kart for their equipment.”

Comment from Alessandro Palloni, Modena Kart Team Manager

"With the rain on Friday and the winter temperatures, the event was difficult, but the team always managed to provide the right technical solutions for each situation. In fact, we recorded several fastest laps, including the absolute record for the OK-Junior event with Ruzgar Evci. However, I would note that several incidents during the Qualifying Heats prevented us from achieving an even better result. In any case, these two new podium finishes by Federico Mirabella in the Final and Nojus Stasionis in the overall WSK Final Cup standings can only encourage us to continue in the same direction with the same determination.”
