Ivan Domingues sticks with VAR to compete in FRECA

Van Amersfoort Racing confirms the signing of Ivan Domingues for the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine.

Ivan, who’s a familiar face to the team, will make his full-time debut in FRECA this season after having competed in the final two rounds of the 2023 Championship with VAR. Before his FRECA campaign, Domingues also competed in both the 2023 Italian F4 and EURO 4 Championships together with the Dutch team.

"I am counting down the days to the start of the season,” says Ivan. "To be racing on the FRECA grid full-time is an exciting step in my career. I did two rounds of the 2023 championship which has been very valuable in preparing for 2024. This year, we start with high motivation for the season. Based on the progress and work done so far, we know we can be competitive. We are eager to consistently fight for podium positions, but only after the first race weekend, we will conclude the rest of the season."

"Watching Ivan grow has been great to watch." Says Van Amersfoort Racing CEO Rob Niessink. "We’re thrilled to be working together again for a second year and are sure that he will achieve some great results in his rookie season."

Van Amersfoort Racing is a professional racing team based in the Netherlands. It was founded by Frits van Amersfoort in 1975. Since then, Van Amersfoort Racing has built a long tradition of supporting up-and-coming drivers on their way to higher levels. Drivers like Max and Jos Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Mick Schumacher, Kevin Magnussen and Giedo van der Garde all raced for Frits van Amersfoort’s eponymous team in the early stages of their careers before making it into Formula 1.
