Formula Regional by Alpine: Zandvoort, QP2: Saucy and Minì again, great Colapinto

Track conditions vary, yellow flags interrupt twice the 20 minutes session of qualifying practice 2, but nothing changes at the head of the standings, with the Swiss Grégoire Saucy (ART Grand Prix – 1:31.193) setting an amazing lap time, 0.367 faster than his teammate, Gabriele Minì. Third is a fantastic Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport – 1:31.781), showing again a constant improvement of the driver and the team. Fourth is Mikhael Belov (G4 Racing – 1:31.949), who yesterday has brought the first points to his team, and is continuing to give strong support to G4 Racing in expressing their full potential. Fifth is Francesco Pizzi (Van Amersfoort Racing – 1:32.010), obtaining his best position in qualifying this year. Just behind the Italian driver is Oliver Goethe (MP Motorsport – 1:32.015).

The two yellow flags have been determined by off tracks of Nico Gohler (KIC Motorsport) and Lena Buhler (R-ace GP), and have definitely ruined the best lap times of many drivers.

Grègoire Saucy: “All very good, I have managed immediately to find the pace and feel confident in every condition. The spin at the end of the session was a try to go beyond the limit, but no probelm with the car, so all is under control.”

Garbiele Minì: “Unfortunately in my best lap, at the last curve, the yellow flag has stopped me. I am not sure I could do better than Grégoire, but definitely I was much closer to him. After that, the tyres were not in perfect conditions anymore, so I have obtained my best lap, but definitely slower than my potential. I did not manage immediately to be fast, as I had changed the brake balance, and had to adjust it.”

Franco Colapinto. “A very positive session, the team has done a great job. The car is very good and we are improving constantly, so I am not impressed by the third position. I feel confident and we have demonstrated we are fast on the wet and on dry track, so no problem whatever conditions we find for race 2.”
