Aleksander Mizera and Idola Motorsport set for GB4 race debut at Donington Park

Polish driver Aleksander Mizera and the Idola Motorsport team will both race for the first time in the GB4 Championship at Donington Park this weekend (7/8 September).

Despite it being their first racing appearance in the championship, both team and driver are no strangers to the GB4 paddock. Mizera has completed a comprehensive testing programme with the squad throughout the season, appearing in the pre-event test sessions at the majority of events so far in 2024.

Mizera is a product of Arden Motorsport’s Young Racing Driver Academy, which boasts alumni including McLaren’s F1 race-winner Oscar Piastri, double Macau Grand Prix winner Dan Ticktum and numerous leading sports car aces. As well as building up his mileage in the current specification GB4 car, Mizera has also sampled the new Tatuus MSV GB4-025, as he prepares for next year.

This coming weekend marks Aleksander’s first race of any sort at a professional level, having conducted his entire motorsport development under the YRDA’s tutelage across the past three years. Idola meanwhile has proven itself as a leading sports car operation across the past three seasons, becoming championship winners in the Praga Cup UK, and it now enters GB4 in conjunction with Arden Motorsport.

Aleksander Mizera said: “I’m really looking forward to racing at Donington this weekend. It’s a great circuit where I’ll be able to take part in my first race in cars. Throughout the season we have improved in pace at testing events and the next thing of course is racing. I’m very excited to have this opportunity, and happy to continue working with Idola, Arden and the YRDA who have made this possible. We are looking forward to continuing our progress.”

Idola Motorsport Team Owner John Whatley said: “Aleksander has shown great progression and maturity during Idola’s ongoing testing and coaching program in partnership with Arden and the YRDA, considering he had never turned a wheel in a single seater prior to testing with the team. “The next step in his pathway is to develop his racecraft utilising the final rounds of this season, with the aim to have him as best prepared as possible for the 2025 season. We are excited to support him for the final rounds and hopeful that he will have a beneficial experience and good results.”
