The US Racing ace jumped into the lead at Turn 1, taking advantage of the fierce battle between pole-sitter Kean Nakamura-Berta and Sebastian Wheldon. The two Prema Racing drivers went on to complete the podium behind the Brazilian. Nakamura-Berta, the Slovak-Japanese driver currently at the top of the Italian F.4 Championship, will have another strong opportunity to aim for the top step in Race 2, starting once again from pole. Gomez, meanwhile, will start from pole in Race 3.
