The World Championship event in Franciacorta will undoubtedly remain one of the most memorable FIA Karting events of recent years. All the ingredients were there: ideal weather conditions for the season in northern Italy, a magnificent field of 250 drivers, non-stop action on the track, a large audience around the track and watching the live stream, and superb organisation masterfully led by the Franciacorta Karting Track team. Three drivers enjoyed a great first. Dutchman Senna Van Walstijn won the Mondokart.com FIA Karting World Championship - KZ, Maksim Orlov dominated the FIA Karting World Cup - KZ2 and Angelo Lombardo held off Davide Fore in the FIA Karting International Super Cup - KZ2 Masters.

After 33 Qualifying Heats run from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening, uncertainty still reigns at the Franciacorta International Circuit. Only the weather conditions seem stable under the Lombardy sun, while the sporting hierarchy has regularly changed during the exciting races. In terms of the top spot, Italy's Angelo Lombardo has taken over from his compatriot Davide Fore at the top of the FIA Karting International Super Cup - KZ2 Masters intermediate standings. On the other hand, Germany's David Trefilov managed to retain his lead in the Mondokart.com FIA Karting World Championship - KZ, as did Maksim Orlov in the FIA Karting World Cup - KZ2.

In Germany, the suspense lasted until the very end for the Mondokart.com FIA Karting European Championship in KZ. Mattéo Spirgel's victory in the Final, combined with Pedro Hiltbrand's retirement, tipped the balance in favour of the French driver at the expense of the Spaniard. In KZ2, Maksim Orlov finished his Championship with a flawless performance: three Finals, three victories! His victory is undisputed. In the FIA Karting Academy Trophy - Junior, thanks to his success in the Final at Mülsen, Finland's Oiva Vettenranta drew level on points with France's Maël Le Marchand, the winner at Valencia. Everything will be decided at the final competition in Italy in September.

Spirgel, Thien and Le Marchand remain leaders

Already on pole position on Friday, Matteo Spirgel (FRA) in KZ and Jayden Thien (NED) in KZ2 at the Mondokart.com FIA Karting European Championship, as well as Maël Le Marchand (FRA) at the Academy Trophy - Junior, managed to retain their leading positions at the end of Saturday's Qualifying Heats. There were 13 heats in total, which produced some exciting races.

Mülsen celebrates its first Pole Position Winners in FIA Karting

Fast and popular with the drivers, the Mülsen circuit in Germany hosted some highly competitive Qualifying sessions on its debut in an international FIA Karting event. For Dutchman Jayden Thien, competing in the Mondokart.com European Championship - KZ2, and Frenchman Maël Le Marchand in the Academy-Junior Trophy, it was also a first pole position. Mattéo Spirgel, also from France, repeated his performance from the previous event in Italy, once again proving himself the fastest in KZ.
