RMC Winter Cup: New Winter Champions crowned in Campillos

Prefinals and Finals marked the closing day of the 2026 Rotax MAX Challenge Winter Cup at KartCenter Campillos. After the difficult weather conditions of the previous days, the sun returned, delivering spectacular racing across all categories and allowing the first European Rotax champions of the 2026 season to be crowned.

The first titles of the year were awarded to Antoine Barbaroux (DD2), Nicolas Picot (DD2 Masters), Logan Rolfe (Mini MAX), Zdenek Babicek (Junior MAX), Macauley Bishop (Senior MAX).

DD2 / DD2 Masters – Barbaroux and Picot complete the job

DD2 and DD2 Masters were the first categories to take centre stage for their Finals. Antoine Barbaroux (Privateer) claimed the overall victory in the combined race, finishing ahead of Nicolas Picot (Privateer), who secured the DD2 Masters title.

Second on the DD2 podium and third across the line was Lenn Nijs (Schepers Racing), followed by local driver Vicente Marquez (Marquez Competicion). In DD2 Masters, second and third place went to Vivien Cussac-Picot (Privateer) and Ricard Kalnciems (RM Latvia).

Mini MAX – Penalty reshuffles the podium

The Mini MAX Final was decided by a post-race penalty. A 10-second penalty cost Austin Oman (Sam Pollitt Racing) the win, handing victory to Logan Rolfe (KR Sport). Rolfe stepped onto the top of the podium ahead of Mik Klinkers(Bouvin Power) in second and Sebastian Bearman (Strawberry Racing) in third.

With this result, Rolfe also secured the free entry for all four rounds of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy, while Klinkers and Bearman earned, respectively, a two-round RMCET free entry and a RMC International Trophy free entry.

Junior MAX – Babicek crowned champion

In Junior MAX, Zdenek Babicek emerged as the new RMC Winter Cup champion. The Dan Holland Racing driver claimed victory with a margin of around six tenths of a second over Jenson Chalk (MLC Motorsport) and Majus Mazinas (KR Sport).

Senior MAX – Bishop confirms his dominance

In Senior MAX, Macauley Bishop (Dan Holland Racing) completed a flawless weekend, winning both the Final and the Winter Cup title with a margin of over four seconds. The 2026 champion will benefit from a four-round free entry to the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy. Joining him on the podium were Scott Marsh (Strawberry Racing) and Bran Vanderveken (Bouvin Power).

A sunny Campillos thus bids farewell to the Rotax MAX Challenge Winter Cup, the opening event of the 2026 Rotax Karting season promoted by WSK Promotion. The focus now shifts to the next appointment, scheduled for the weekend of 15 March, when the Cremona Circuit will host the opening round of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy.
