Ginetta Junior runner-up Fred Green steps up to GB4 with Elite Motorsport
Ginetta Junior Championship runner-up Fred Green will graduate to the GB4 Championship with Elite Motorsport in 2026.
In his first full season of car racing, Green secured nine victories and a total of 18 podiums from 24 races in this year’s Ginetta Junior Championship, finishing just 12 points behind the eventual champion. Fred, who won the Ginetta Junior Scholarship for 2025 and is the most successful Scholar since the programme began in 2011, joins recently announced Matan Achituv in Elite’s three-car GB4 team.
The 16-year-old from Leicestershire is the nephew of former DTM multi-race winner Jamie Green, while his father, Nigel, was the 2017 BriSCA F1 World and European Stockcar Champion.
Green, who attends the Motorsport UK Academy in Nottingham, began karting in 2020 and, while focusing on his first season in car racing this year, also enjoyed karting success, winning the Kartmasters GP and British Open O plates – two of the biggest one-off UK title races. He achieved 17 race wins in 2024 and was the Senior X30 IAME EuroCup Vice Champion that year and Junior X30 English Champion in 2023.

Fred Green: “After a strong year in Ginetta Juniors, and with the support of Elite Motorsport and MSV, I’m incredibly excited and grateful to step up to the GB4 Championship. I’m continuing with Elite for 2026 because I’ve really enjoyed the team environment and the relationships I’ve built throughout the year. I know they can give me a competitive package to have another successful year.”
“My aim in 2026 is to win the Driver’s Championship while at the same time contributing to the Teams’ Championship title race with the ultimate goal of helping Elite secure the title for a second consecutive year. I’ve learned a huge amount this season, especially in developing my race craft and leading races under pressure. GB4 testing at Donington, Snetterton and Silverstone has helped me take big steps forward, and I’m improving every lap as I learn how to get the most out of a GB4 car.”
Team Owner Eddie Ives: “Fred’s progression into GB4 is thoroughly deserved, and we’re delighted to continue this journey with him. He delivered an outstanding season in Ginetta Juniors, showing speed, maturity and a real determination to improve every time he was on track. His attitude in testing has been equally impressive, and we have no doubt he’ll make a strong impact in his first year of single-seaters.”
“Keeping Fred within the Elite Motorsport family was incredibly important to us. We’re excited to help him take this next step and fight at the front in 2026.”
