Freddie Slater tops second collective test at Paul Ricard

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine completed its second and final Collective Test of the day at Circuit Paul Ricard, with Freddie Slater emerging as the fastest driver on track. The Briton set the benchmark early on with a best lap of 1:57.782, confirming the competitive pace shown by the Prema Racing squad throughout the day.

Just behind Slater, Trident’s Matteo De Palo stopped the clock only 0.361 seconds adrift from the top, showcasing strong form heading into the weekend. Third place went to Prema’s Rashid Al Dhaheri, who closed the session with a time of 1:58.304, keeping up his consistency from previous rounds.

ART Grand Prix’s Evan Giltaire placed fourth ahead of a tightly matched group that included Enzo Deligny (R-ace GP), Jack Beeton (Prema Racing), and Taito Kato (ART Grand Prix). Ean Eyckmans (RPM), in only his second race weekend in the series and first year in single-seaters, continued to impress by finishing eighth overall, once again topping the rookie classification. He was followed by Hiyu Yamakoshi (VAR) and by Prema Racing’s Doriane Pin, rounding out the top ten.

As the championship builds momentum, the stage is now set for tomorrow’s qualifying session, which will take place at 9:00 AM and will be streamed live on the official Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine YouTube channel.
