The 2024 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship kicks off at the Southern Go Kart Club in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia this weekend.

Henry Johnstone has completed one of the most dominant SP Tools Australian Kart Championship final appearances to win the first round of KZ2 at Monarto in the river city of Murray Bridge, South Australia. He was not headed in the final and took the win by over six seconds in his BirelART machine. Emotional scenes ensued as he celebrated the victory. Second was defending Australian Champion, Joshua Fife who started his campaign well. Grabbing his best finish in KZ2 was Championship stalwart, Reece Cohen, who had put in a summer of hard work off-track to finish third. Another to record his best finish was New Zealander Nathan Crang.

Troy Loeskow has successfully defended his Australian KZ2 Championship at the final round of the SP Tools Australian Kart Championship, presented by Castrol EDGE in South Australia, while Brad Jenner also went back-to-back in X30 and Brendan Nelson secured his seventh career Australian Karting Title on Sunday afternoon when the nine Champions on offer were crowned.

The venue for the second running of the Ultimate Club Racer, an event designed specifically for the Club level racer, has been locked in.

The SP Tools Australian Kart Championship presented by Castrol EDGE is the premier karting Championship in the Southern Hemisphere. Round 3 takes place at Southern Go-Kart Club at Bolivar Raceway in South Australia and you can catch all the action from the final day LIVE.

Australia’s highest level of kart racing, the SP Tools Australian Kart Championship presented by Castrol EDGE, makes a long-awaited return to Adelaide at the Bolivar Raceway in South Australia on April 30- May 2.

Karting Australia events across the Country continue to thrive as the karting community tackles the ‘Road out of Lockdown’. For those States that have been consistently able to hold events in a COVIDSafe Environment throughout July and August, participation numbers have increased 23% on the corresponding period in 2019.

State Championships Locked In Preliminary Australian Kart Championship and Rotax Pro Tour Dates. Karting Australia has confirmed the dates and venues for several upcoming State Championship events that form part of the National Karting Calendar.

Karting Australia’s Licence holders are flocking back to their local circuits as Club Level racing kicks back into gear across the country. The Northern Territory and Western Australia were the first two regions to host Club events last month, over the past couple of weeks Victoria, South Australia and more recently New South Wales and Queensland have returned to racing.

Over the past six weeks, Karting Australia has continually worked closely with State Associations and Clubs across the country to ensure the sport gets back on track as soon as possible. Earlier this week, Karting Australia released a five-stage return to the ‘new normal’ and we’re pleased to advise that two Clubs are ready to go at Stage 1 – Small Scale Social Karting.

Karting Australia has today released a five-stage map of the ‘Road Out’ for the sport across the country. The first step will see, when State Governments allow, limited numbers of Licence Holders back on track at each Club, not racing but in organised social karting designed to get members back to the Track.
