The 25th Winter Cup has kicked off with qualifying practice and the initial heats at the South Garda Karting on Friday, February 14th. More than 300 drivers from 47 different countries made it to the track. Heats will continue on Saturday, while the final stages will take place on Sunday, February 16th.

The 25th Winter Cup, opener of season 2020 scheduled for February 14-16 at the South Garda Karting circuit in Lonato has 305 drivers in the provisional entry list of the four categories KZ2, OK, OK-Junior and Mini Rok.

A great participation is awaited at the 25th Winter Cup as all International karting protagonists are gearing up to contest the 4 categories KZ2, OK, OK-Junior and Mini Rok. From Lonato to Le Mans, the Energy Corse brand has gained victories and podiums in particularly difficult and challenging events. Indeed, both the Rok Cup Superfinal and the IAME International Final each brought together entries of more than 400 drivers! Over the years, the Rok Cup Superfinal has become the most challenging and competitive event of the season in the Mini category, reserved for youngsters aged under 13. On the South Garda Karting circuit in Lonato, Italy, there were no less than 130 drivers entered for the 2019 edition and it was the talented Jamaican Alex Powell who triumphed brilliantly with the Energy Corse team. Just 12 years old in September and supported by the Mercedes F1 Junior Team, this new young karting star is definitely destined for a magnificent career.

The seventeenth edition of the Rok Cup Superfinal draws to a close with a fantastic result: 419 registered drivers gave an exciting show crowned by a perfect organization and an amazing participation from supporters and fans, growing year after year.

The yearly International meeting Rok Cup Superfinal 2019 has been a very successful event. Luca Bosco won Shifter, Cristian Comanducci Senior, Domenico Cicognini Super, Jamaica’s Alex Powell Mini, Daniele Federici Junior, Marcel Prokscha Expert and Paolo Baselli Expert Plus.

The young Jamaican go-kart champion Alex Powell has distinguished himself throughout the five meetings of the famous Italian Championship of 2019. After another podium at the beginning of September at the closing event at Val Vibrata,  the Mercedes F1 Junior Team protégé concluded his Championship with a convincing 3rd position overall in the 60 Mini category. With the Energy Corse team, Alex is now focused on the last major events of the season, with a major step to be taken very soon for the motorsport hopeful.

The Italian driver won Race1 and came second in Race2 closing in on Cunati that retained the lead of KZ2 but was quite unlucky in Sarno. The third round of the Italian Championship has made the campaign lively in all classifications.

Cunati won Race-1 in KZ2 and increased his lead, Tormen won Race-2. The other winners are: Trentin and Marenghi in 60 Mini, Cesari and D'Attanasio in KZN Under, Profico and Torsellini in KZN Over, Cenedese and Bertuca in X30 Junior, Villa and Ingolfo in X30 Senior.

The Italian ACI Karting Championship at the Circuit of Siena, where the new attendance record was registered with 283 riders, proposed the first major protagonists of this second Tricolor race on 7-9 June. Not without a few surprises after the qualifying practice on Friday and above all after the qualifying heats on Saturday's intense day.
