Since our last club events were held on the 15^th March 2020, before Covid-19 came along, we have all been forced to adapt to a different way of living. We have all been required to dramatically change the way we do things in our personal life, our businesses, our careers and we are all missing the sports and recreational activities we enjoyed so much prior to Covid-19.

After a hugely successful opening event to the A-Maxx Racing WKA eSports Series Presented by Summit Racing Equipment, round two set for Monday night has undergone some positive changes.

The forced stop period is faced with confidence, tenacity and optimism by CRAM Motorsport and the recently officiated driver who will participate in the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, Andrea Rosso.

Over the past six weeks, Karting Australia has continually worked closely with State Associations and Clubs across the country to ensure the sport gets back on track as soon as possible. Earlier this week, Karting Australia released a five-stage return to the ‘new normal’ and we’re pleased to advise that two Clubs are ready to go at Stage 1 – Small Scale Social Karting.

A dynamic young man in his thirties, James Geidel, as President of the RGMMC Group, has been the Promoter of the FIA Karting Championships since 2018. RGMMC also promotes and organises other Competitions such as the IAME Euro Series, the Spanish Karting Championship and the new international Champions of the Future series launched in 2020.

After a race-long battle with Auckland-based kart-turned-car racer Taylor Cockerton, it was young Wellington karter Ryan Wood who won  KartSport New Zealand’s latest Giltrap Group & Carter’s Tyre Service-backed ‘Virtual Club Day’ on the iRacing sim (simulator) platform’s Charlotte Motor Speedway’s road course on Saturday evening.

Karting Australia has today released a five-stage map of the ‘Road Out’ for the sport across the country. The first step will see, when State Governments allow, limited numbers of Licence Holders back on track at each Club, not racing but in organised social karting designed to get members back to the Track.

Talented young Sydney karter, Jackson Harlow dominated KartSport New Zealand’s second ‘Virtual Club Day’ on the iRacing sim (simulator) platform in Saturday night – prompting top Kiwi finishers Cameron Dance  (2nd) and Billy Frazer (3rd) to promise to double down on their efforts ahead of next weekend’s Giltrap Group and Carter’s Tyre Service sponsored event.

The French Cups are canceled to focus on the smooth running of the French Championships while freeing up dates for regional races. A provisional calendar for the French Championships has been drawn up subject to the future arrangements of the administrative authorities.

After thousands of Hot Laps and two demanding Semi Finals, the Motorsport UK Karting Esports Finals were to be an exciting affair on Thursday evening (16 April). The virtual PF International circuit was to be the host of the finals for the Motorsport UK and Motorsport UK under 12 classes and the Motorsport UK Open category – open to non-licence holders, with several drivers from around Europe taking place.

While the start of the 2020 karting season rightly remains in limbo due to the ongoing fight against the spread of novel coronavirus, industry leaders have continued to collaborate in preparation for the upcoming season.

Registration for the ROK Cup Sim Challenge Presented by Conrad Group Insurance Agency is now open. With the first series taking place April 20^th – 26^th and featuring ten ROK Cup classes, entries are now open and will be capped at 24 entries per class.

KartSport New Zealand’s first ‘Virtual Club Day’ was held on Easter Sunday evening and its success – on all sorts of different levels – means more are already being planned, says the organisation’s National President.
