Gold Coast teenager Alice Buckley has been selected as a finalist in the FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars program in France on Sunday. Buckley travelled to the Paul Ricard circuit as one of the 14 young drivers to participate in the four-day evaluation program aboard karts and a Formula 4 car at the Paul Ricard circuit last week.

The 27^th running of the Xtream Rock Island Grand Prix, the world’s largest karting street race, this year will feature 18 racing classes. Admission is free to this family-oriented event. Racing is schedule for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day with morning practice and afternoon qualifying heat races on Saturday, followed by practice, opening ceremonies and 18 feature races Sunday.

Josh Fife has claimed his second SP Tools KZ2 Australian Kart Championship, presented by Castrol EDGE in Newcastle on Sunday after an epic series of races that saw a three way title fight go right down to the 25 lap final.

Josh Fife has taken the lead of the KZ2 standings in the 2022 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship after an almost perfect weekend at the penultimate round of the series at Emerald in Central Queensland. The former Champion dominated the 25-lap final on Sunday afternoon in the Championship presented by Castrol EDGE.

It is that time of the year again, time for the World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturers Cup Grand Nationals. Taking place at the Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati, teams and competitors will take on the Batavia, Ohio facility in their quest to garner WKA Grand National trophies and a spot in the history books.

The California ProKart Challenge traveled to the CalSpeed Karting Center for the lone double-round weekend of the 2022 season. The June 24-26 event at the Fontana, California facility hosted Rounds Three and Four of the Superkarts! USA regional championship program.

A special 206 Senior Shootout presented by Kart Lounge will kick off competition at the upcoming return of the WKA Gold Cup Series set for June 24-26 at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s 0.6-mile kart track.

Sam Dicker has taken his maiden SP Tools Australian Kart Championship victory in the KZ2 class at Hume International Raceway in Victoria on Sunday afternoon, staving off a series of challenges. Dicker became the first West Australian since Jake Klarich in 2015 to win a round of the Championship’s premier class.

The California ProKart Challenge completed the second round of the 2022 season over the May 14-15 weekend at the Buttonwillow Raceway Park. It was the second straight event at the central California facility, with the opening event contested there in April. This time it would be in the clockwise direction around the 7/10-mile circuit. Another chunk of the $70,000 prize package for this season was awarded following the two days of action at Buttonwillow – with all but two drivers earning their first wins of the series this year.

The 2022 ADAC Formula 4 season is picking up pace: From 13th to 15th May, the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg hosts the second race weekend of the 2022 ADAC Formula 4 season.

The racing season is underway for the California ProKart Challenge with a quick turnaround to host the second event of the 2022 season. On the May 14-15 weekend, the Superkarts! USA regional series returns to the Buttonwillow Raceway Park, site of the opening round last month. The Buttonwillow, California facility will welcome back the racers, this time taking to the 7/10-mile circuit in the clockwise direction. Portions of the $70,000 prize package for the season were handed out last month at the opener, with more to be presented at the popular podium ceremony following the Round Two action as drivers push forward in their championship chases.

The second event of the United States Pro Kart Series was held over the weekend (April 28-May 1) as OTK USA continued its success during the first half of the 2022 season. The Carolina Grand Prix was contested on the GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, North Carolina with perfect racing weather greeting the over 300 entries in the seven categories offered. Of the 14 main events on the weekend, OTK drivers and teams grabbed nine victories with 25 standing on the podium steps in addition to 53 finishes inside the top-five.

The Corona pandemic has already made life difficult for motorsport for the last two years, now there are additional global circumstances that complicate the current situation. Unfortunately, this is also noticeable in the DEKM. Despite a high level of commitment, the championship does not have an adequate field of participants for this year and is sitting out the coming season.

As the Covid pandemic hopefully moves into the rear-view mirror, the Xtream Rock Island Grand Prix, the world’s largest go-kart street race, is preparing for its 27^th year by inviting kart racers to “Return To The Rock.”
