The contenders at FIA Karting European Championship - OK & Junior Competitions are of an excellent level, both in number and quality. 183 Drivers, 88 in OK and 95 in Junior, have registered for the FIA Karting European Championship - OK & Junior. They represent 43 nations and four continents, and hopefully all of them will have the opportunity to travel to Spain for the occasion, as international travel is still subject to some restrictions depending on country of origin.

Organised by AKK, the Finnish ASN, the Flying Finn Race will take place at the PowerPark circuit at Alahärma near Kauhava. With a top international program, karter Thomas ten Brinke has had an intense and successful first half of the season in the prestigious OK Junior class. The fourteen-year old talent from Zeddam can look back on a number of podium places in various championships, of which the third position overall in the FIA Karting European championship and the second place in the WSK Euro Series are the most impressive so far. This promises something more for the second half of the season.

It was not until the last Final of the season that the FIA Karting European Champions - OK & Junior 2019 were decided. Strategy was at the heart of the Le Mans Competition where the battles were numerous and spectacular. The 2018 OK World Champion Lorenzo Travisanutto won his first European title, while the youngster Marcus Amand was crowned Junior European Champion to close a particularly tough weekend.

Next to the legendary 24 Hours Circuit and not far from the Bugatti Circuit, the Le Mans Karting International Circuit is bathed in a unique sporting atmosphere. The 1384 metres of the new circuit opened in 2013 recall the many World Karting Championships that took place on the old Alain Prost circuit in the 1970s to the 1990s. In this temple of motorsport, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest has built state-of-the-art facilities surrounding a fast track, conducive to slipstreaming and tight clashes up until the last lap.

The original situation generated by Qualifying Practice, combined with the importance of this final Competition of the FIA ​​Karting European Championship - OK & Junior, increased the pressure on Saturday, 20th July on the Le Mans circuit. The 24 Heats on the programme were often the scene of fierce clashes in the two categories that are dominated for the moment by Gabriele Minì (ITA) and Andrea Kimi Antonelli (ITA) before the last Heats remaining on Sunday morning.
