Just as the colours of the sky kept changing during the weekend in the south of Portugal, the Birel ART Racing team went through all kinds of emotions during the highly anticipated World Championship in the OK and OK-Junior categories. Whether with the Brazilian Matheus Morgatto in OK or the Pole Tymoteusz Kucharczyk in OK-Junior, the podium was a strong possibility considering the performances displayed during the Qualifying phases. The Finals, which were held in difficult rainy conditions, were, unfortunately, a real disappointment for every member of the Italian team. See you in 2021...

The Champions of the Future series held at Portimao was the perfect time to hold a final rehearsal in optimal conditions before the FIA Karting World Championship in the OK and OK-Junior categories. This was on the minds of all the drivers, who gathered a lot of information in preparation for the biggest event of the season. In terms of results, Polish driver Timoteusz Kucharczyk proved to be the top representative of the official Birel ART Racing team.

Races follow one another and do not always look the same! Having just been crowned double European Champion the previous week in KZ and KZ2, the Birel ART brand was hoping to continue its momentum and finish its European campaign in OK and OK-Junior with a new major result. Alas, the hazards of the race decided otherwise. Several points of satisfaction remain for the official team of Lissone, such as the excellent performance of the Brazilian Matheus Morgatto, who came 8th in the final with a high level of performance.

The European Championship race at Sarno for the OK and OK-Junior categories had started well for the Birel ART brand, with a promising Qualifying and several drivers at the front of the field. Unfortunately, there were many collisions in the hot weather near Naples. The hopes of the Birel ART Racing team were dashed throughout the Heats and Finals, to the great regret of the whole team, although they are already focused on the upcoming competitions...

The KZ World Champions of 2019, the Birel ART Racing Team has just started its FIA European Karting Championship campaign with a masterful victory by Alessandro Irlando. This success was completed by the third step of the podium for Riccardo Longhi and 4th place for Marijn Kremers at the wheel of his Ricciardo Kart. The Birel ART chassis proved to be just as effective in KZ2. Viktor Gustafsson easily won the Final in the colours of Charles Leclerc with the Lennox Racing team, while Giuseppe Palomba was 3rd!

The eagerly awaited FIA Karting Championships kicked off in Spain on the international circuit of Zuera with the OK and OK-Junior categories. The Birel ART Racing team had prepared perfectly for this important competition and the chassis performance was one of the constants of this meeting, which put the competitors to the test due to high air temperatures.

The Birel ART Racing Team has just won the most beautiful of trophies, the FIA ​​Karting World Championship. The Italian brand was victorious in the most demanding of categories, KZ, against all the top drivers in the world. In Italy, at the Lonato circuit that all the teams know perfectly, Birel ART knew how to make the difference thanks to highly competitive equipment. After the Final, Birel ART even managed to take a double success. While Marijn Kremers was the main recipient of this major success, Riccardo Longhi celebrated his debut in KZ with the title of Vice World Champion. For Birel ART, the work paid off, as well as that of the TM Racing engine brand and the technical staff. For the 60th anniversary of Birel ART, the clearly forecast goal has been achieved!

The 2019 FIA Karting World Championship in Finland proved to be a much more difficult race than expected for all competitors. On the Alahärmä circuit, where drivers lacked experience, the changeable weather added to the harshness of the situation. Despite the extremely difficult conditions, the Birel ART team never gave up and took several of their drivers to the Finals. And especially, the Italian Cristian Bertuca, who managed to earn his place in the top 10. 

In the wake of his podium finish at the Swedish Grand Prix at Kristianstad, Luigi Coluccio again raised the colours of the Birel ART brand in the Final of the European OK Championship. On the prestigious international circuit of Le Mans, the young Italian was in the fight to integrate once again the coveted top three, when a cruel accident put an end to his performance a few tens of metres from the finish. Coluccio and Birel ART will most definitely be planning to take revenge at the World Championship in September.

Already 3rd in the World Championship in OK in 2018 at the Kristianstad circuit, Luigi Coluccio and the Birel ART team have returned to the podium at the Swedish Kart Grand Prix, thanks to determination and great competitiveness. The Italian completed a magnificent attacking race to return to 3rd position after his start from 6th and took the opportunity to return to the top of the provisional ranking of the European Championship. There was also much satisfaction from the other drivers in the team.

During a particularly tricky competition, Birel ART Racing was able to place two of its drivers at the front of the OK European Championship. Pole position and 3rd place in Qualifying Practice for Luigi Coluccio and Alessandro Irlando, followed by two top-three finishes in the heats, confirmed the level of performance of the Birel ART chassis and their TM Racing engines at the highest level.

The first round of the FIA Karting European Championships - KZ and KZ2 started well for the Birel ART brand, which confirms the quality of its products more than ever in the categories using with 125cc gearbox engines. Impressive throughout the weekend in KZ, Alex Irlando was rewarded for his attacking race with the third step of the podium. In KZ2, Riccardo Longhi remained in the limelight throughout the Final, making an incredible comeback from 13th to 3rd place. The two European titles appear to be within the reach of the official Birel ART team in 2019.
