During a particularly tricky competition, Birel ART Racing was able to place two of its drivers at the front of the OK European Championship. The sun even made a lengthy appearance and warmed the atmosphere, in contrast with the gloomy weather of the day, before a shower changed the game in the late afternoon.

On Friday 17th May, the second competition of the FIA ​​Karting European Championship - OK & Junior started on the Genk circuit (BEL) in weather conditions that were particularly difficult to manage. All this because of light intermittent rain that varied grip from moment to moment during Qualifying Practice. The technical choices were influential on the results of this first phase, the consequences of which could have repercussions until the Final. Luigi Coluccio (ITA) finally took Pole Position in OK and Conrad Laursen (DNK) in OK-Junior.

The Gabriel Thirouin Circuit of Angerville was chosen to host the French Karting Grand Prix, the first competition of the year for the 2019 FIA Karting European Championships - OK and OK-Junior which will take place from 19th to 21st April 2019. Near Paris, the Angerville track hosts an international race after having hosted the famous 2006 World Championship for Formula A and the U18 World Championship in 2012. Its 1198 m long recently re-homologated circuit has undergone slight adjustments to follow the evolution of standards, but still has its special character, both technical and selective.
