After very changeable conditions during yesterday’s first on track action with a hint of sunshine from time to time, all 394 competitors from the 60 nations represented here this week would head out onto the circuit to be challenged during the first set of Non-Qualifying Practices.

After the 30 Qualifying Heats of the Rotax MAX Challenge International Trophy, most of the polemen confirmed the competitiveness revealed during the Qualifying Practice in race conditions.

The last day of the 2020 Rotax MAX Challenge International Trophy was rich in spectacle and twists on the Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve. Fought at 100% intensity on a dry track and in mixed conditions, the Finals showed the extraordinary competitiveness of the Rotax categories with top level participants coming from all over the world, despite a not particularly favourable health situation, before rewarding the big winners.

The weather improved greatly during the Prefinals of the Rotax MAX Challenge International Trophy in Portimão and the variations in grip seen since the Qualifying Heats resulted in races as exciting as they were selective in all categories.

Originally scheduled at the height of summer in Le Mans, the 2nd edition of the Rotax MAX Challenge International Trophy had to adapt to the Covid-19 pandemic like everyone else. Thanks to the important preparation work carried out by the 3MK Events team, the event could be rescheduled in Portugal from 8th to 13th December 2020. With nearly 230 participants and a rigorous health protocol, the competition is already shaping up to be a success as the Qualifying Practices have just been completed.

Four weeks after the kick-off of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy in Belgium, the European Rotax racers headed for Germany where the second round of the season was held from September 4th to 6th, 2020. Venue was the Prokart Raceland in Wackersdorf which equally hosted the halfway event of the elite RMC racing format. Although the Micro and Mini MAX categories were not part of program this time, over 100 drivers from more than 20 nations entered the second meeting of the year, providing the opening round winners and overall leaders a competitive mid-season event.

By partnering with 3MK Events and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO), BRP-Rotax has had an unquestionable success with the launch of its new world-class event at the Le Mans circuit. Almost 300 drivers, 44 countries, five continents, impeccable organisation, a magnificent circuit, thrilling races, a magical atmosphere, prizes and much more, led to delighted participants returning with a smile and with a greater desire than ever to continue their kart racing programme in the Rotax categories.

In the middle of the summer month of July (12^th – 14^th) the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy headed northwards. Six weeks after the outstanding season kick-off at the Italian Adria International Karting Raceway, the Asum-Ring in Kristianstad, Sweden, was the next top race track in the calendar of Europe's professional RMC karting series. 85 drivers from around 20 nations made their journey to Scandinavia to compete in the 2019 mid-season event on the 1,234 metre circuit. The spectators on-site, as well as the fans watching the live stream, witnessed some thrilling battles throughout the weekend program, at the end of which some new faces were added to the European Rotax winners’ list while the first champion was crowned as well.

Karting Genk once again lived up to its slogan of being "The Home of Champions" where the winners of the first Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy Open were crowned on the 1,360-metre long track in Belgium from April 19th to 21st, 2019. Almost summerlike conditions made for perfect racing throughout the Easter weekend, welcomed by the 127 drivers from over 20 countries around the world who joined the international competition.
